I agree, Raspberry was the best. I had both on draft.

You could always go on a long road trip to Hill Farmstead. Everything HF trades hot.

Everything I've tried from Kuhnhenn has been top notch. Sure, $50-65 six-packs are expensive, but that is only a $14-16 bomber, so keep it in perspective. They've got the goods. OH, and if you do score a Rasp. Eisbock, blend a little with a sweet stout like Chocolate Rain, wow!

They've had BB4D on tap all week, and I still haven't been there. I feel foolish.

Edit: This week. I've been there plenty of time.

I've had the raspberry at the MI Winter Beer Fest, and I'm not sure if I'm very appreciative of the style (it was my first and so far only Eisbock) because it was like a super hot wine that was almost too much for me. Maybe age would do it some good for me, but I much preferred the BB4D.

I have thought about hitting the wants button for just about everything from Kuhnhenn. I am envious of you all that have gotten to try some of their awesome stuff. I will have to look for some trading partners when I head to Michigan in August.

Had both on draft at the release. Probably preferred the blueberry slightly, but just had raspberry last weekend and it's drinking great.

I have a bottle from 2007 that I should open up to see how it's aged.

Are their Meads good? There is very much of them; which are the best ones?

Their Meads are very good...I dont think you'd be disippointed in any of them provided you enjoy the "flavors" you want..

A bear and a rabbit were taking a shit in the woods....The bear asks the rabbit if he has problems with shit sticking to his fur..The rabbit said no...So the bear wipes his ass with the rabbit..............

Ok good then! I can't usually get any (quite obvious), but recently found five of them. I picked up them all. I hope they are good.

Technically, the 2007 Raspberry Eisbock was released several times over the course of many years. Actually, if memory serves, it was released at every Winter Solstice from 2007 - 2011. All from that same 2007 batch. Not sure if there's a documented bottle count, but there was a lot (I'm sure the "fun-size" bottles helped to spread it around a bit more).

Even made it out to some local Michigan stores.

I normally don't buy mead, maybe bough 2 from Kuhnhenns total. I love mint chocolate chip, and that is what peaked my interest. Luckily the bar tender knew it "wasn't for everyone", and let me try it first.

Hm, I know they saved some for the following year's Winter Solstice, though I did not know they released it for multiple Solstices... Thanks for the correction. I wonder if more of the '07 batch or '13 batch was made, volume-wise? Seems like the '13 batch was available for a long time, not to mention all of the bottles were 375mL.
