excellent beer, I'd say the closest thing you canget around here are the yetis and troegs javahead (?). Terrapin makes wake-n-bake... I'll try save a bottle for you, very similar & tasty... not available in syr yet.

FLBC has bombers of sculpin for sale as well as curmudgeon 4-packs... not a sculpin fan, but he'll yeah to the consistent founders!

Tried to follow it with a Nugget Nectar, terrible idea. It tasted awful as a followup.

Split a bomber with my roommate Thursday night, definitely did not disappoint. Basically everything I was hoping it'd be!

And by "split" I mean she drank 1/4 of it.

Drinking it right now watching the Yankee game and hockey. Deeelicious. Helping me forget my Lebleu Saturday disappointment

Yeah, I heard about Le Bleu . . . that really sucks. These releases are getting crazy.

Came up for the LeBleu release (and got shut out) but managed to make the rounds in Syracuse afterward.

Stopped by Galeville for the first time in a while - the remodel is kinda incredible. I grew up a few blocks away and only remember it as a bizarre combination deli/pool supply store (which looked exactly the same 20 years ago as it did the last time I was there before Byrne bought it out). Some really cool stuff on the shelves, inc. reasonably-priced Fantome Hiver and Sucaba. Was also impressed by the co-op; they're making great use of the space there, with some really cool idiosyncratic picks. Brilbeck's is Brilbeck's - I'm pretty sure they've got some old-recipe Four Loko and Billy Beer floating around in the back.

Did not make it to J. Ryan's, but Blue Tusk's Mach 10 keg is almost completely flat at this point and the lines were dirty - ugh. Empire's rye IPA is surprisingly excellent, though, and well worth a visit while it's around.

I agree about the Empire Rye. I usually try very hard to like their beers, because their mission is something that I believe in, but, like their food, it generally falls flat. In the case of the food I think it needs more seasoning, but the beer needs something other than pilsner malt, that being said, I think the malt works really well with the rye.

Just Hiver as far as I could tell - new version of the label, $15.99. Opened one on Saturday and it was really nice and fresh.

Mm, it'd be cool if Terrapin were in the NE but I don't think that's ever going to happen. Never had WnB but want to try it sometime . . . I'll try to get my sister to pick some up in NC.

also I must say I'm impressed with the $10/10oz samples of FWXV @ the tusk... not much more than the bottle cost.
