I am going to brew the above beer later today. My concern is that it will not be dark enough. I have some chocolate malt on hand, should I add it?

Also, what do you guys think about the hop schedule?

I think 4 oz of Chocolate malt would work fine in your recipe. I brewed a stout years ago with Cascade and did not like the flavor in it. I prefer Fuggles for my stout. Good luck.

I actually have 8 oz of chocolate malt. Do you think adding that much would be overkill? My batch is half size, so it would be like the equivalent of nearly a pound each of roasted barley and chocolate malt.

In my opinion 4oz will work well. Feel free to chuck it all in you may like the results. The fun part is creating your own recipes to make them your own. Take care.

I agree, add some chocolate malt.

34 IBUs for a stout? That doesn't seem like it will be balanced, especially for an American stout. I'm no stout expert tho.

I'd add the chocolate, and I'd also note on the IBU's.

Thats weak at 34.. Really low I think.
