Has anybody heard anything in regards to Triple Mango IPA being released at the brewery and in bottles? It said in their newsletter that it was supposed to be released this month, but we're almost in July and anytime somebody seems to ask them on their facebook or anything, they don't respond. Just curious if anybody has heard anything?

I heard a single hop pale ale was supposedly released this month but I haven't seen hide nor hair of it. Nor have I seen the one you mention.

Is this supposed to be an India Pale Ale or an "Imperial Pale Ale", like Perpetual?

It's somewhere. Search Troegs - it's listed as Scratch #98.

Neither... its a Triple IPA or very strong DIPA based along the lines of the homebrew contest that Als of Hampden had awhile back.

I cant speak for bottles but kegs have been trickling out to a number of local bars.

They had it at Philly beer week and at some events but it was supposed to be bottled on limited quantities and on tap at the brewery and it hasn't been yet. It was originally scratch #58 and they had a contest where people would vote and they would bring back a previous scratch beer and triple mango won and re-released as scratch 98.

I have to say, I had high hopes for this one when it was released as a Scratch beer, and it didn't live up to my expectations. Good, not great.

A Friend on mine had it at the Brewery and was impressed. For what it is worth.

Which one? 58 or the new 98?
It gets confusing when you refer to it as a scratch because it has only ever been a scratch beer despite the new alias that was added and merged.

If you did not like the first release, you will probably dislike the newer one even more. Just my 2 cents.

I had Scratch #98 here in Rochester last week. It was a unique take on the style and I enjoyed it, but it's not something I would want a ton of.

Also in June, expect to see the winner of our “Scratch Redux” contest, Triple Mango IPA. Originally released as Scratch #58, Triple Mango IPA is inspired by an award-winning recipe from a local homebrew contest. It weighs in at a whopping 11.3% ABV and 125 IBUs and features copious amounts of Columbus, Nugget, Palisade, and Simcoe hops as well as cane sugar and Alphonso mangoes. Triple Mango IPA will be available on draft as well as a limited run of cases and six-packs.

From troegs newsletter, this is what I'm referring to

I had this at ACBF in Boston this year and thought it was great. I didn't know they had any plans to bottle it, but if they do, I will absolutely seek it out.
