I don't think you'll have any trouble. I'd help out, but I'm trying to slow down. Post an ISO.

When I was contacted by two people that had it that asked for BA Abraxas, a KBS vert (09-13)+, or a KRE. I'm hoping that was an outlier, but you never know.

As part of a larger trade, I traded a Straight Jacket for it.

Likely back when it was actually available? Considering it is now basically retired I don't think I would trade it as easily.

Traded for it a month ago. Also, it says it was released April 30th, 2013. So 1.5 months after release it is "basically retired?"

I got one as an extra. Really excited to open it as it sounds awesome.

I posted an ISO for Old Bridge Rider in exchange for a Hangar 24 Pugachev's Cobra. Didn't take long to get that trade done.

Because calling a beer that cannot be bought anymore retired is wrong? Get over yourself.

Yeah, it is. If the brewery specifically states that it is never going to be made again then you can probably call it "retired." This beer came out 4 months ago. There are 1,000's of beers that can't be bought right now that aren't retired. Please tell me more about how Beatification, DDG, Pliney the Elder, Dark Lord, Hunahpu, and Black Note are all retired. You can't buy them right now, right? Not trying to be a dick, but unless you hear it from the brewer's/brewery's mouth that they will never ever make this beer again you can't just throw around the word retired. It's not subjective.

    Can't be bought Retired.

I was also referring to your comment about not trading it so easily. While this is certainly not true for all 2012-3rs (I've had great experiences with a few), it's increasingly common to see members with said join dates overvalue beers. I think it's ruining beer trading, but maybe that's just me. I think, given how good Fremont's beers are, we, as Washingtonians, should be sharing them with the rest of the community, instead of holding them for ransom.

I did the same thing. Would've been happier if I kept the straight Jacket...

Only half of it was in barrels and only for six months. I know as of a few weeks ago there were still cases of it available at Fremont.

You are calling it retired for the sole purpose of upping its trading value. That's why people are getting uppity.

That said, it is in all likelihood a one off beer, as it was an anniversary beer for a local beer bar, but I'm fairly confident that Fremont will release another barrel aged barleywine at some point in the future.

I just extra'd one. Traded a few as a part of a larger trade for Cigar City stuff and North Carolina stuff.

IIRC from when I tasted it, half barreled for six months, the other half was in barrels for 16 months. What a delicious beer!

"...we brewed this monster English Barleywine with floor-malted Maris Otter barley and Noble hops. Half was aged in bourbon barrels for 6 months, blended back together, bottled, and then we waited... and waited... for 16 months... through both the 7th and 8th Anniversaries. Now it is ready."

Would a bottle of CCB Leon do it?
