lest you forget, cascade's sang noir... granted that's a sour, but it's a blend aged from pinot noir barrels and whiskey barrels, and it is goddamned delicious. point is, it's not unheard of, and can be done very well.

edit: whoa, for some reason i thought this was a barelywine, not a wild. derp.

I have not heard of that. I'm sure it can be done well, just at first glance sounds a little ridiculous. I'm sure I'll still try to get one anyways.

Pretty sure Blvd Love Child #2 also had both wine-barrel and whiskey-barrel components (and port barrels, too, IIRC). Haven't seen a breakdown of the barrels used for LC#3, but I'd be surprised if it was much different.

Never picked up any whiskey notes in BR. Pretty sure they steam clean the barrels before to neutralize it.

I'd really have to try it again to say anything. I've had it twice while sober, and I wasn't really into sours either time. I'm at least in love with Flanders reds, now...

I don't like coconut normally, but Dayman was so good (as is every other collaboration Stone brew I've had) that I'm pretty excited about R&R. My w00tstout excitement is through the roof.

Store all your beer where I do - first in your belly, then in your toilet (or on the lawn. whichever is closer.)

Fantastic seasonal, ideal for hot Austin summers.

Non-beergeeks seem to really dig it too. Wowed a couple with it... 'What did you says this was?!? Where can I get this?!?'

Saw all of those in MA last week sitting on shelves along with cases of Breakfast Stout. Imagine they should be making their way here soon. Porter was delicious.

I heard it's a beer that comes in a black bottle with XXV on the label. That is all. :grinning:
