F'in shame the bottle share isn't today, I'm strongly considering tying one on...bad day, kinda. Work OT tomorrow or drink good beer and get shitty tonight, hmmmm.

Who was in Bruery RS/HS? I wanna buy a bottle when they do the site crash test and could meet up again sometime this week to pass the cash your way.

The 13th? and yet another tasting I can't make :slight_frown:. A band I've always wanted to see will be in town. Anyone up for some 6 Feet Under? Lookin' at you Dave.

I'm pretty sure it's their lead singer who tries really hard to look like Rob Zombie.

Pretty sure? First of all MATT, I believe you're a little out of your element here. We're not talking about Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus. Second of all, if you mean he has long dread locks down to his knees (as do other heavy metal lead singers) then no, he still doesn't look nor try to ve anything like RZ.

Thrid, you won't catch Chris Barnes wearing f'in designer jeans and sun glasses with a f'in SCARF! No offense to RZ, I like him but give me a break. Just because he makes movies now doesn't mean he has to look like a douche bag Hollywood producer. I couldn't stop laughing and crying during the last few interviews I've seen with him.

Now run along little Mattie before it gets dark outside.

Edit: Don't forget that Chris Barnes was a founding member and lead singer of Cannibal Corpse when Zombie was just getting his feet wet. I doubt Barnes would ever want to be anything like Rob.

I'm bummed I'll be missing yet another tasting at your place. Maybe the 13th is a good time for you to get re acquainted with metal .

So the white face paint, with the dark below the eyes isn't a rip off huh? But you are right, Rob Zombie dresses like a bitch now and he's gone pretty pop sounding over the past 5+ years. I went to go see him at Palladium a year and a half ago and I was incredibly disappointed with him... the music was still pretty great though.

I'm just done with the all growling metal, it was cool for a little while and now that one trick pony has left town. When mixed in with someone who can actually sing it sounds great though.

I'm not saying I know everything about Barnes but I have no idea what your referring to with the white face paint. Again, maybe he did but I'm not familiar with it. Chris is one of the best growlers in the business, lol. No harmonizers either. The only one I think can even come close to rivaling him is Glen Benton of Deicide. I wouldn't say Tom Araya or Dave Mustaine sound great (n matter of fact Mustaine doesn't sound good, imo) but the music is still badass.

I also beg to differ that one trick pony has left town. This new shit they call "metal" disgusts me. A bunch of metro sexual emo's who look and sing like girls but hey whatever floats your boat girlfriend.

To get back on topic, we'll save this convo for a nice little tasting sometime in the future

I remember Cannibal Corpse fondly. I was never as big a fan of 6 Feet Under though.

Always loved Death, Obituary, Entombed (older stuff) and some of the other Death Metal bands from the late 80s early 90s.

I know some people hate them, but Dimmu Borgir (I know, black, not death metal) is a show I never miss when in town.

I completely agree and for the most part I haven't listened to new music in quite awhile. Maybe a little slipknot but they don't seem new........ I'm done.

Back on topic, the next C&G tasting will be on a Sunday then followed by a 2hr tasting held on a Saturday for the first time. Details should be coming soon along with a thread.
