From New Hampshire and going on a trip to New Mexico. Please suggest must try local brews/breweries. Really hoping to get a great taste of the Southwest.

    Cheers!

Where in NM? Just got back from a trip in June. These are the ones I hit...

Albuquerque - La Cumbre and Marble. Wanted to hit Chama River or Il Vicino, but opted to hit La Cumbre a second time instead.

Santa Fe - Santa Fe, Marble and Second Street. Also, there was a nice bar near Marble that had alot of taps - can't recall the name. Hit Blue Corn as well. Food was alright, but the beer was nothing great.

Taos - Taos Mesa and Eskes. There's also a nice tap room there as well, but I can't recall the name either.

Blue Corn is nothing to write about. Stick with La Cumbre in ABQ.

If you like Franch bistro food, must eat at the French Pastry Shop in Sante Fe. Awesome crepes to take away the hangover.

La Cumbre, Santa Fe Brewing Company (love their Java Stout), and Marble are all breweries worth drinking. La Cumbre Elevated IPA is possibly the best IPA made in the Southwest.

Just keep in mind, you might have trouble finding these breweries outside of the big cities (in my experience). Heck, when I was in Santa Fe, the only place that had La Cumbre was Whole Foods!

I will be spending a night in Albuquerque and Santa Fe on our drive from Austin to Ouray. Any suggestions on food for either city?

We always stop at maria's kitchen in Santa fe.
Kokoman's , in pojoaque, north of Santa fe, is a nice bottle shop.

If you in Santa fe and looking for a something to eat, Try Bobcat Bite burger. It right outside the Santa Fe and have the best Green Chili Burger in the world. Fresh Farm raise beef only, never frozen. Just melts in you mouth. (Cash Only)

While I appreciate the plug of La Cumbre, Blue Corn is most definitely worth stopping by. John is doing a spectacular job up there and the last time I was up, the vaste majority of beers on tap were world class.

If you enjoy margaritas and spicy chile, Maria's in Santa Fe is a must stop. Really depends on what your looking for though. If you want to spend some $$$, the skies the limit in Santa Fe. If your looking for more bar and grill food, Turtle Mountain Brewing is probably the best you'll find in NM.

We just did that drive. the Million Dollar Highway is fun to drive on. Go to Ourayle House Brewery in Ouray. Much better beer than the Ouray brewery. There's an Irish pub there that had great food too.

Durango Brewing was my favorite of the 4 breweries we hit in Durango.

Elevated was on tap at Thunderbirds in Santa Fe. They had several La Cumbre brews
