I've had one of these (that I enjoyed very much) and I have a few more. I'm thinking this may not be a good candidate for aging - any ideas. I'm consider treating this one almost like a IPA but that might be a bit overboard. Is there anything that would be gained by aging or is it just a waste?

IMO, the coffee fade issue is a bit overblown. The coffee flavors will certainly diminish with time, but i don't think there's any need to drink all of your bottles in the next month or so. I also have a few bottles of this and will probably drink one every few months to determine where it is going.

This is an amazing beer fresh so its hard for me to say, but generally I feel that stouts get better with some age. Save the ones you have for a couple months, try one. If you don't like where its going then drink them before its too late. If you do then give it some time. Now I want to go buy some more even though the only place in Tucson to find them has them for $15 a pop..

Who cares if the coffee flavor fades a bit? Think about all the other great flavors that will replace it!

Not worried, just curious to see how it's drinking. Will open soon regardless.

I opened one from last year about a month ago. It was intensely oxidized and went down the drain :/

While both are really good I recently had the deciccos version and I think I give that one the edge.

Just opened a 11/12 ( acquired date, no bottle date I can find). Label say best before 2015.

First impression- lost sweetness and a tad of coffee and spices associated with biscotti ( is that almondine?). It no longer tastes like drinking a desert akin to hot fudge on gourmet vanilla ice cream.

Gained a modicum of dark fruit, raisin and depth, and dark molasses-like richness that is a combo of roast malt and roast coffee . Sipping beautifully

Definitely changed. Fresh sweet and yummy, one year deep and dark. More nuanced. IMHO

I've had it a couple times with a year on it.

More dark fruit, and chocolate in there. The coffee roast is subtle, but very much there.

I enjoy it fresh, but I also like it aged too.. I think 6 months is best of both worlds really. I enjoy the coffee, as I think it's better tasting and fresher than say, Breakfast Stout.

The body of the beer doesn't go away, and I think thats the best part of it. Milkshake like.

Agreed on the body. Because I split this bottle with wifey, I'm simultaneously sipping a year old Brooklyn black chocolate stout. Delicious, but thin (if a stout can be) compared to Imp Biscotti which coats the tongue with smoothness

opened one from last year about 2 weeks ago. hints of coffee (subtle) and a well rounded chocolate flavor. silky smooth mouthfeel. almost like Nestle Quik chocolate milk! i couldnt get over how the nose smelled like chocolate milk. an amazing beer for sure.
