The bottle count is way lower for these than for Choc Rain and the dollar amount is more when trying to trade a Choc Rain for all 3. The people starting with Cali BA Huna are closer in my opinion.

 

I know several SC BAs are part of the Reserve Society or know someone in the Reserve Society so they have tried it or know they will be able to try it in the future. Being bitter because no one responded to your trade thread(when as has been pointed out earlier no one knows how good or bad these may be) is not going to help you going forward.

Is any local Chucktownians doing a prerelease get together/bottle share? I think I had a hand in getting one started several years ago and ended up not being able to make it. If there is one this year, I will make it.

 

Yeah, I've gotten bombed already in BMs about it, and I still haven't decided if I want to make the 3.5 hour drive from the Upstate, yet.

 

BA HUNA really, Mexican cake was/is on shelves in GA, SC and in no way is it as good as a BA anything. I opened one with friends last night and they all really liked it but if I opened my BA Huna those same guys would have died from taste shock. Mexican cake= Hunapuh's BA Huna 1,000 times > Mexican cake

EDIT-I did not read the whole thread, if you were talking about BA MC then maybe. But it all depends on what it is aged in.

 

Yeah, I was talking about BA MC, and I was referring to a whole set, i.e. 3 variants of MC for the Cali BA Huna. But that's just my opinion, and as stated above by others, we don't even know if the BA MC's will be any good, and of course I don't even have any yet, so I've responded to all the BMs about trades the same way as most everyone else... "if I get some, i'd be happy to try and work something out."

EDIT - and the only reason I even made that comment was because someone has already posted a pre-trade ISO:FT: offering BA Huna for the set, and I was just saying I thought that was closer than a Choc Rain... just my opinion.

 

They are releasing 3 variants, Jack, Apple Brandy, and Cabernet.

of the 3 the only one that sounds good is the Apple Brandy, All those spices and heat with Jack or wine would seem strange.

Just FYI for those in here speculating on pre-trade values, etc. A good acquaintance shipped me a bottle of Brandy Huna (to open alongside BA Abraxas and the BAMC variants with the crew at Westbrook during/shortly after this release) and in return, I have offered an AB variant bottle as a thank you in return and both parties feel this was an amazingly equal trade. Additionally, there's also the possibility that we might add another variant into the fray for a BA Church and again, both parties felt this exchange was more than fair. I'm certain not everyone feels these are equals, but I know that from what I've been privileged to taste and feedback from people that have much greater experience in this industry, none of these will disappoint.

I was also approached by a friend who offered, straight up, a BA Huna in exchange for a BA MC (AB variant). He said he felt as if that was a perfectly fair trade, and I agree. And, if for some reason I wasn't able to get any bottles, there was no harm done.

To be honest, based on all the shit talking and shade people are throwing regarding this release, I'm completely turned off to the idea of trading it just to land a certain beer. I'll swap with friends and connections I already have, but I'm not going fishing in the forums just to have a bunch of anonymous assholes bitch and whine about a possible trade they aren't even playing a role in.
