Monument Wine and Spirits in Concord had several bottles in the cooler for $6.99 on Saturday. As mentioned before, Bevmo in SF on Geary Street had several bottles (cases) a couple of weeks ago at the same price. Cheers!

Forgot to mention, RuinTen is not quite my cup of tea. A little too boozy for me. I prefer Ruination or Self-Righteous to RuinTen in terms of Stone offerings. Also, Double Bastard is not to be missed in my humble opinion. Enjoy!

Stone Oceanside still had plenty of Ruin Ten in the cooler. Picked up the newest Enjoy By 08-02-13 today. Killer beer. I like better than Ruin Ten.

I had a hard time finishing off my bottles of Ruin-Ten. Way to malty, boozy hot and sweet, no way does this remotely resemble last years 10th Anniversary release. Enjoy By is by far a better beer.

    Cheers.....

I remember last year's being pretty dank stuff when fresh. This year's, the hop presence seems to take a back seat to the malt profile. I got hints of a savory component as it warmed up too. Enjoy By is far better.

I had an enjoy by 7 14 in Seattle recently and was blown away. It was that good. And yes they seem to vary the date by state. The ruin ten seemed very boozy to me the two times I had it on tap. Good, but not as good as I recall

Did not like the RuinTen I had at Pizza Port Cbad yesterday. Butterscotch taste and very boozy. Would not have it again.

Nah. This is last year's beer all the way. It's your palate. And I don't mean to pick on you, I just mean a year of Enjoy By has warped everyone, initially impressed by RuinTen, into thinking last year's beer was somehow better than it really was/is. And it's still delicious. But it's this beer, this "not nearly as impressive as Enjoy By" beer.

This is just like the endless "did they use less hops in Celebration Ale" this year threads.

Last year this beer was a huge deal coming from Stone, there's last big new DIPA since their 10th anniversary Ale (!!!), and it was pretty great.

And then they topped it but with a ton of hype (and ensuing backlash) with Enjoy By and people are/were generally even MORE impressed, but there was hype backlash and there was a bit of "but the FIRST thing that impressed me was FIRST, and therefore BETTER!"

    It's the same damn beer.

Okay. Must not be maltier then. It's identical in every way to what I had last year, now that I think about it.

Far more likely than it being maltier this year.

Sort of like a barleywine, right?

Year round beers vary from batch to batch. I'm not at all surprised that a beer made once a year ago turnd out different. Based on my experience, it's not uncommon for craft brewers to miss the mark.

Not a barleywine that I would drink.

Got 2 yesterday at calmart in calistoga. 7.50 per. Was impressed, not too malty for my taste. Pretty solid offering from stone as usual.

Costco San Diego, Morena Ave., $5.49 a bottle. I saw cases and cases of it there - perhaps over 20.

I also saw it in the La Jolla Village Square Trader Joe's, $6.49 a bottle.
