They are part of Craft Brewers Alliance, which is 32% owned by Inbev... along with Widmer and Kona.. right?

So they get distribution through InBev I'm pretty sure. I haven't seen much Red Hook in my local HEB grocery in Texas, but InBev is getting lots of Widmer and Kona in there.. I have seen the occasional Red Hook sixer.

Seeing LOTS of all 3 here in NE Ohio...not that I care who owns them, but I'm not gonna lie, it doesn't make me wanna hop on their bandwagon.

My local BW3 has Karbach Hopadillo on tap which is awesome .. Last time I was in there the bar tender heard myself and fellow brewer talking about brewing at the house.. Dude stated talking to us about it and the next thing I knew the manager was asking us to keg some and bring it up. " ill sell it for you .. we just have to get it approved by the GM here" Not sure if he was talking about of his ass but they seem really keen to get into local brew. I am sure there are certain laws and sanitation issues that would stop him from selling home brews but Im not up to snuff on all that .. thought it was interesting how much he was into the idea though.

Not sure how this will be different than Audible Ale, but I don't begrudge them from trying to nudge the masses towards better beer. Baby steps.

Several of the Buffalo Wild Wings in the Houston area are bringing in Karbach and Saint Arnold. I've had Saint Arnold DR13 and all of their Icon series at the one in Clear Lake and I was able to get one bottle of Saint Arnold BB3 there also. They also almost always have something from Live Oak on tap and I've seen 512 Pecan Porter there before.. so the Houston area ones seem to be stepping up a bit. Still plenty of BMC.. they have to make the majority of their clients happy.

Yeah, I still try an occasional Kona or Widmer... I did hear that one of Widmers beers is brewed for them by Red Hook.. but as long as they can keep InBev from taking over everything it all should be ok.... and they don't become like Leinie's who seem to be putting out fifteen beers a month now that they are owned by SABmiller.

Yeah w/Leinie's I'm still not quite sure if SABmiller is a good or bad thing as I'm pretty sure even w/o SABmiller I'd still find their output underwhelming, average & frankly not fitting the price point they are in...even if they priced it in Yuengling's range I'd more often than not buy from Yuengling's family than Leinie's

Sounds like third shift amber lager, boring and uninspiring. Bww fans will love it like they do batch 19

Is it? Seems like some pretty ham-fisted, unoriginal marketing to me. They should put some color-changing mountains on the pint glass so that you can tell if its cold enough.

Wow! Maybe this will put Redhook back on the map for me. In all honesty, their ESB was a big reason I got into good beer.

As you noted above, Widmer and Redhook (along with Kona) are merged into one company, Craft Brew Alliance. Most of the standard line-up for all three brands (now four, with the addition of "Omission") have TTB COLA's that list four of their production breweries- WA, NH and 2 in OR. Despite the individual branding, the CBA is one company with several different locations brewing their line-up, regardless of which company built a particular facility. One would expect most east coast Widmer is brewed in NH, and certainly the Kona sold on the mainland isn't brewed in Hawaii.

Miller (pre-SAB) bought Leinenkugel in 1987, but they have expanded both its distribution region and line up in recent years, and have now put it under MillerCoors "craft-y" subsidiary, Tenth & Blake. "Tenth" in fact from the name and address of the second Leinenkugel plant, located in Milwaukee and purchased in the mid-90s, which was originally built by Heileman as it's Val Blatz "microbrewery".

Yep, a pale ale sounds exactly like a lager...Nailed it

The negativity on these types of things never ceases to amaze me

Tried it the other day. It has a really nice hop aroma, which makes you think your in for something good, but the taste is just very bland almost like a light lager. Seemed like maybe a blonde ale just dry hopped.

I'd be curious to try this one at some point to see exactly what a beer crafted with sports fans and chicken wings in mind tastes like. I agree w/ a post above, though, that "Game Changer" is a pretty ambitious name.

Regarding these press releases-- they always crack me up. A quote from president of this and super senior executive VP of that. I guess these are generally for the media, wholesalers, and retailers, but from a craft beer drinking consumer's standpoint, they really come across as pretentious.

"Game Changer's unique story gives sports fans a new craft with the authenticity of a Redhook brew."

    Give me a f'ing break...
