I feel like I might have something in that could finally help me obtain my personal whale, King Henry, but I know very little about A&T and what it might fetch. If anyone feels inclined to offer an opinion on this I would very much like to hear it.

i wouldn't be surprised if a&t landed you a lot more than a king henry.

Used to be "worth" a lot when it first came out. However, its seeing limited distribution (albeit, not in the US) and apparently there's a metric ton of it in Canada... which serves to decrease the trade value a lot. As it stands currently though, you should still be able to get a King Henry for it. If I had one, I'd trade it to you in a second for an A&T

There is no way I'd trade an A&T for a King Henry. Not because of any perceived value issues but because A&T is so good. Drink the A&T dude. KH was hype from the get go. A&T can actually back it up.

disagree. kh is one of the few mega hype beers i've had that imo actually lives up to it. but palates differ, so on and so forth...

I've actually done this trade, but I sent A&T for KH+ where the "+" was semi-limited stuff to bring the $4$ part closer (KH = ~$15, A&T=~$30). Rarity wise I think at this point it's pretty fair.

For release #'s, Canada saw about 800 bottles released for sale to the public, with another 400 or so gobbled up by pubs and stuff for on-site consumption only.

FWIW, for those who were able to get it in Indiana, KH was ~$35. KH was technically only available for on-site and some to-go scenarios at bars in IN, so that could explain why people were charged a $35 price tag.

Yeah, I find this issue a bit of a slippery slope. :stuck_out_tongue: That is, I trade out my Cantillon at $28-$29/bottle, as that's exactly what I paid for it. I also know people in California that pay $40-$50 per bottle (Lou Pepes, Fou'Foune) from stores that have insane mark-ups. However I don't feel it's morally right to value my bottles using those #'s even though there are stores that charge them. So, I just stick to what I paid (which is a fairly typical price) and call it a day.

I'm definitely considering BCBBW in the whole equation, but in spite of that I'd still want to try the original. Magic barrels, right? And bear in mind I was able to get a few A&Ts, have already consumed one, and you guys are right it is pretty damned good. KH has just been a want of mine since before it was even released.

magic second use barrels that not one human being on the planet is capable of distinguishing from any other bourbon barrel that already housed a beer

Believe me, no one wishes more than I that the stupid barrels were not, by and large, considered to be magical and that this beer was not so highly coveted. I wanted to try it based on concept alone, well before the whole Rare barrel variable entered the mix, and at one point or another it became personal.

    You prefer VIII?

    Jesus.

Did you beat that train wreck? They go into space. Summons are consumable. They all grew up in the same orphanage. The end boss is some nonsequitur space beast. You raise seed rank by just walking around.

    Triple triad was coo tho.

i have very vague memories of the orphanage scene at the end when i beat it when i was like 9. i was too young to know what was going on. all i know is listening to enema of the state and playing FF8 in my youth was the best time of my life. also

8, tactics (though objectively the best FF game), 7, 9

    i never beat 6 :flushed:

Fuck I would be remiss to expect you to care about a shitty Kefka sprite or the world of ruin now but that and Chrono Trigger are the Dave and Soleil du Minuit of the RPG world.

    Amazing.

Does anyone actually know what's the true story...is it a barleywine aged in spent BCBS barrels or is it just a barleywine aged in bourbon barrels?
