Any actual Belgian beer; dubbel, quad or other dark malty version

Place I bought it from already has it on "sale." $3 cheaper than originally. I see it on shelves everywhere, this beer is going to be on the shelves for quite some time. Surly needs to quit price gouging once their new place opens.

I haven't sought it out, but the few places that I've seen it at, it has been priced below $20. I don't know if these are marked down or "sale" prices or if the people that are paying $25 or more are insane. France44 had it available for online orders. Do they normally do this for special or limited releases?

Below $20 is considered fair. I think due to the disappointment with Syx a lot of people were skeptical with seviin leading to more bottles being available.

Ha! Yeah, sorry Seviin is a solid beer, but it's biggest weakness is the price point. This beer will be sitting around for a while. I just wish they would bottle surly four every year for their anniversary and I would be a happy man!

Please as in, you're joking? If so, I'm being completely serious. Maybe Seviin will blossom into a wonderfully complex beer in a year or two, but as of now, it's pretty sweet and boozy. $20 for a non barrel aged beer really doesn't appeal to me especially for similar beers on the market.

I'm not a Belgian fan, but my brother and I shared one and he thought it was fantastic. I can see the price criticism, and I've been saying for awhile now that if there is a beer bubble I think it will be these expensive bottles that aren't stouts, but everything I've heard from people who appreciate a Belgian is that its fantastic.

It was quite the surprise to me and I don't think you would have wanted to make the 12 hour round-trip drive....though it was that good :grinning:

Is it really worth it driving around town pissing away gas to save a few bucks?

If X equals dollars saved, Y equals additional cost driving around town and X is greater than Y; then yes it would have been worth it. Since I bought all the bottles I want, I don't need to worry about it.

Next time I will just send Brandon a personal message when messing with him so others don't get confused
