    Couple beer managers and my BEK buddy told me Devil Dancer and Rübæus are here in Houston at warehouses, just not at stores yet. We should see them both Monday.

    It's a crap shoot. Once it hits it will most likely be Spec's downtown only. That is just speculation on my part.

    not sure if they steam cleanthe barrel. I do know they try to make the barrels as neutral as possible so any whiskey, wine or other liquids that were in the barrel from a previous use is not imparted in to their beer that is being aged. Luckily they left the 2 BCBS barrels they let us use for our homebrew project intact for the RIS and weeheavy me puit in them.

    The only way to remove any flavor from the barrel would be to soak them in water for a long time to remove tannins. Or to age a beer in it. My assumption is that they use a portion of whiskey barrels but they do not make up a large percentage when it comes time to blend.
