What an awesome, friendly group of people there! Great operation, tasty beers, and for only being around a year they have some winners on their hands already. I hope they start getting distributed down here in South FL , because their IPA is crisp and clean. Their Covert Hops Black IPA was also an amazing brew. A friend of mine and I drove up to their brewery from South FL for the Colonial Cup Home Brew competition, and they awesome look of the brewery just blew me away. I am jealous for you all in the Charleston/Mt Pleasant area. What an inspiring experience because Edward the owner is younger than me, and has got that place going in the right direction. Good luck to them!

YES! Were you the ones shoveling out 900 pounds of awesome aromatic grains out of the mash!?
That brewery is amazing to walk into, and the beer is just as great! Great to meet everyone!

My brother had some friends in town and one wanted a Galaxy jersey... (more cost effective buying) but once we got to the store 1/4 mile away it was already 4:15.... :slight_frown:

Agreed with everything you stated in your OP. I went there with the Columbia Homebrew Club awhile back and it was really impressed by what they had going on there. Definitely a must stop while in the area...

Their beer is excellent. Too bad I can't say the same for their tasting room staff. The two times I've visited the brewery, the two girls working behind the bar were extremely rude and discourteous to everyone there. I've heard similar stories from other people, so I know I'm not alone. Then again, I've heard plenty of people really enjoyed their visits, so maybe I just happen to have bad luck when I go. Still, great beer.

Me and Lefty made the trip up to Westbrook over the weekend for the Colonial Cup and was Super impressed with the brewery and the operations they got going on there. Edward (the owner) was awesome to talk to and down to earth and his brewers were fun and very informative/helpful. We hung out with the two ladies running the front end and they were a blast and a pleasure to talk and to and even tasted our beers and a few rare’s we brought. Gotta tip my hats off to those guys, they are on top of things and putting out some amazing beers!! Just wish I could have tried the Mexican Cake…
Hopefully well see ya guys downs south soon and best of luck to ya’ll

I know some of the barrels are labeled RIS. Didn't see all of them, but some of the must be BA Smokin Guns Imp. Stout.
On a separate note, last time I was at Coast, it looked like the Blanton's barrels had been emptied. BA Blackbeerd may be out soon.

Enjoyed a quiet early afternoon there this past Saturday as the rain moved around the area. Couldn't get enough of their rare release Gose. A wheat-sour brewed with salt and coriander. I brought a growler back to Charlotte with me and enjoyed the last one last night. Brought a number of bottles back as well. Staff seemed a little reserved, but were quick to fill an empty taster. Will definitely visit again next time i'm in MP.

yeah i'm digging the gose as well and i'm not a big "sour" fan. something about the sour and salt combination is just intriguing and keeps you going back for more. we just labeled the gose bottles we did (about 50 cases) and will be for sale in the tasting room this week. the pacific jade bottles should be out too. don't remember how many cases we did, more than 150 but less than 200.

Yep. Since we got our new bottling machine at the start of the year we have bottled all the beers we've made since. Sometimes more sometimes less but at least some amount will be bottled.

The two girls mentioned are probably the same two girls that were there during my visit. They weren't exactly rude, they just didn't seem interested in interacting with customers or promoting their product. just need a little enthusiasm!

I've been to Westbrook in the Charleston and it's wonderful. Beautiful brewery. If I could one day own a brewery, I would model it after this one.
