NEW BELGIAN STRONG PALE ALE SUNDAY

Greetings again, I hope you all are having a fine NBS. I had an awesome afternoon playing the clown for the little guy. Lots of big smiles until the camera comes out.

Nap time for him, NBS for Dad. A very good, bargain priced beer in a can. I'm buying a case soon.

i tried Jester King's session farmhouse ale, Le Petite Prince ... kind of cool, especially at 2.9% ABV. i've got a lot to learn about saisons, but i like it. super dry and tart.

Greetings all from the Columbia Basin.

Today I have the cleverly named "Imperial India Pale Ale" from Green Flash Brewing, San Diego, CA.

A decent IIPA, very sweet and fruity, but also long on the ABV. I'm not sure it's as "quaffable" as the label suggests.

Earlier this afternoon I bottled some home brew, including a very promising IPA. And I'll be sampling some of the home brew from earlier in the year, a Bavarian style hefeweizen from May and an American wheat ale from April.

A pretty day day here in dryland wheat country, sunny with temps in the upper 80's and cotton ball clouds in the sky.

As many sirens as train whistles today though, which probably means trouble out on Interstate 90. It's one of the most dangerous stretches of interstate in the country. It's so desolate people fall asleep, out there all the time, especially on a warm day after a long holiday weekend.

    God bless those First Responders.

    Happy Trails!

    Good evening!
Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend. Thanks to Troegs for filling growlers of one of their latest Scratch beers, the Triple Mango IPA. Refreshing, but extremely dangerous.
Good thing I am a professional.
Very stoked to see NBS alive and well. I need to chime in more often.

    New American Porter Sunday
    Greetings, fellow NBSers,
Mid 80s and mostly sunny in Spokane today. Yesterday I went out and visited Selkirk Abbey and Iron Goat, where I got to have their new Tripel, which was awesome. At the abbey I picked up a growler of their DBIPA, Infidel, which I'll be formally reviewing later. But that's a beer I've had before, and this is NBS!
Today I'm going with a canned porter from Boise:
    Decent yet unspectacular.
    Now for that growler!

Totally concur about the interstate. Music that will keep you awake is an essential between Ritzville and George, since I-90 just plods along west mile after mile without any real movement of the steering wheel required.
BTW, that's a nice looking yard you've got there, Rod. Next time I pick up a growler this summer I'm bringing it to your place!

    Happy NBS to all...

Today was another hot and humid day here on Long Island
It was also my last day of vacation :slight_frown:

I did a few outdoor things (early morning) and then went out for a bit with the wife.

After dinner I had this new beer for Andy Murray (congrats)...

New ESB (or English IPA) Sunday

    Greetings NBS,

The weather here in CT has been HOT and HOTTER. At one point today I think I actually saw Satan sitting at a lemonade stand seeking refreshment (and probably a soul or two).

Despite the heat we did some good hiking and am now capping the 4th weekend with this unique brew from my favorite International brewery, De Molen:

    Happy New CANned Beer Sunday!
I had a tough day yesterday. I have begun a write-in CANpain to be elected mayor of Lancaster, PA in November (https://www.facebook.com/WoodyChandlerForMayorOfLancasterPa2014) and as part of my wanting to press the flesh with my potential CANstituency and so I spent two hours in the blazing sun at a rally to legalize marijuana. After that, I headed to the Spring House Taproom with every intent of stopping in at Pour (on Prince) and Federal Taphouse, but I met up with a bunch of Lancaster's Beerluminaries and we then went to DipCo, where it all hit me like a ton of bricks and I fell asleep at the bar. In Europe, that is OK, here it is not on. I then really slept in and awoke to get back on the dog and pony show that I rode in on, to blend metaphors.
I began with a punch to the liver:
then I sat down with a fellow monk, as one of my persona is Bro. Woody with the Order of Disorder:
    Soon afterwards, I struck gold!:
but while CANtemplating the irreparable damage that I may have done to my CANpaign, I began to feel blue:
Let me leave you on this hot, humid summer evening with my CANpaign slogan: "Put a Woody in LanCANster! LanCANster has gone too long without a Woody!"
See you next New CANned Beer Sunday with more madness!

Well you know where to find me... sort of. It's an obscure spot on the edge of town. I have had multi-generation Ritzvillites drive up in the yard and say "I never knew this place was up here." So we are sort of hidden in plain sight. ;-)

    New Double IPA

Awesome summer day in West MI. Depending on whether you believe the weather sites or my car, it was well into the 80's and may have topped 90. Lots of family time today. Went out for breakfast with some awesome neighbors, hit the Y for a quick workout and ping-pong with the kids, attended a Star Wars themed, 5th birthday with lots of good friends. Time to unwind with NBS.

Stepping out of the Mitten State for today's new brew. Thanks to eli323232 for this one via the Fantasy Soccer group. It was a winner (unlike my very middling fantasy ranking).

Wait, isn't it always brown over there? Where'd he find the green? It's not like there's a river nearby or anything.

If you liked last Sunday's themed line-up, you will love what I have in store for this coming Sunday (Su, 14 July 2013)! I CAN't reveal anything as yet, but as long as I CAN get an early start, I have some backlog that I want to plow through. See you then.
