i have played the first 2 hours of 6 probably 10 times now, i don't know if i can bring myself to ever do it again. i'm feeling inspired though so maybe i'll dive in....

or maybe i'll just play tactics again

 

i've got legends of dragoon too is that worth a revisit? i got to like disc 3 or something as a boy but i don't remember it

 

Spent barrels. No PVW barrels, though, so that intrinsic rarity flavor will not be present.

 

Sounds awesome but yeah might skip on it cause it won't be 'rare' enough. Haha

 

i'll reserve my judgement until i can taste BCBW, but i'm on the fence about whether a particular spent bourbon barrel can have that much of a different effect on the beer vs some other bourbon. i'd probably experiment with the eclipses if they weren't so damned expensive.

edit: and for the record, 6 is the best ff game.

 

I know PVW barrels do magic in PVW Black Magick vs the Buffalo Trace. So I'm not sure about second use, but also the extra time the stout was in the barrel probably adds some extra stout-y flavor. I loved KH. I'm sure the new version will be great, too. Who knows. It's naive to think you know either way.

 

Man, FFVI is so good - I might just play through it again now.

There's pretty wide and consistent differences between Eclipse variants. But it's not clear if that's the barrel or just something random about only blending certain barrels together and then comparing them.

See, the whole PvW thing is actually even more complicated than it looks on the surface. Julian van Winkle has been slowly blending leftover stocks from his father's (aka "Pappy") distillery, Stitzel-Weller, with stocks from the Buffalo Trace distillery. So, it's somewhat ambiguous to say a beer is aged in a "PvW barrel". Is it a Stitzel barrel or a BT barrel? I think it matters....

 

Yeah, but PvW 20 & 23 are still the old stock. It's 15 and under that are Buffalo Trace now.

Easily my favorite of the series, and short enough you can pick it back up whenever. VII is a very close second.

 

Chrono Trigger is great and all.... but wheres the love for Earthbound?

 

So, there seems to be somewhat of a consense that A&T could pull down a KH, but what about some of the other whales like a BA Huna, BA Abraxas, BA Dark Lord, Chocolate Rain, Black Tuesday, etc? Am I crazy? It sounds crazy to me mainly because I have never really had something that so many others didn't already have (and yes, I am talking about beer!).

1:1 with the new BA huna and BA abraxas seem doable. CR and BT would get done easily. you'd have to add for a BADL.
