I will not be going because student loans and med school renders me too poor and too busy but this looks like it could be pretty damn good. I also like stout's burgers

I hate it when organizers do this. Give us an idea of at least some of the beers that will be there.

I contacted them more info, unlimited pours...but in 2oz tasters. Even though Im sure a nice amount of brews will be at high ABV, tasting out of a shot glass doesn't workout for me.

There is no food included with the price either...they need to take a hint that the reason they have only sold 21 tickets to the event with 4 days left is they are charging too much for what you get.

The burgers there are fairly solid, but much like any gourmet burger joint, you're paying $10+ for a burger you feel like you should be paying a couple bucks less for.

Their taps range from your typical list to a couple that are nice. You'll find something you'll like there. But yeah, this beer fest event is way too overpriced for what you're getting and it's no surprise that it didn't sell well.

Parking in that area is also pretty fucked. Some streets don't allow you to park past 8pm or face getting your car towed. The metered parking shuts off at a certain time, but getting one typically means you have a block or two walk ahead of you.

I can sit at Tony's Darts or Yard House and drink 8oz pours for $5...sooo I'd spend waaay less than $64 and still have my choice of pretty darn good brew. No thanks.

Some of you don't realize that the reason the price is so high is because these are not your ordinary beers. Therefore, the price of bringing these beers in is considerably higher than your average beerfest. Aside from that, most beer festivals have their beer donated, which takes the cost of the event out of the organizers pocket, and it makes their selection much more limited. You can't get this good of a selection when it is donated. A few of these beers you will never see anywhere else. Also, if you buy a ticket at any of the Stouts, they are $50.

If you knew how much a 5 gallon keg of a sour beer or barrel aged beer costs compared to a 15.5 gallon keg of IPA etc, you would understand why it is more expensive. On top of that you have to have 2 five gallon kegs of each beer.

And yet same price for Firestone Invitational, which has way more beers and is way better organized.

It would be nice if they do this again next year to actually list the beers being provided by those breweries. While they are good breweries, it's not going to attract the avid beergeeks without more information about what each brewery is planning to provide, especially at that price point.

Actually, Firestone Invitational is mostly core beers with a few specialties, and it's $94. Stout just dropped the price to $40 a ticket. Go to www.beerfestforbeergeeks.com and type in the promo code stoutpromo (one word). The list of beers is and has been posted on that site as well.

And yet the folks from Verdugo,Tony's, Blue Palms, Surly Goat and others did quite a few kick ass 'Collaboration' events with lists and breweries that trump that.

And even better is that they only charged a 1 time fee of the glass as your entry you could use at a half dozen or so pop up beer events.
