Important question #2: Where do we setup our tents this evening!

Looks like 80% chance of rain so I'm skipping the tent and bringing a canoe just in case

 

The closer the release comes, the stronger the itch to make the 5 hr drive up from Gainesville, fl in the morning. But I am still undecided and could probably be persuaded by peer pressure. Anyone else thinking of doing the same and interested in carpooling?

 

Plan on getting there around 1 hopefully I still get bottles, I have a class I can't skip =(

So are there any nearby bars or restaurants that would allow bottles to be brought in and shared onsite if we were gonna eat lunch there and tip the wait staff well?

 

I really really hope I'm wrong about this, but the potential for this to be a total shit-show seems really high. There are more than likely going to be a ton of people, many arriving who knows how early, standing around the parking lot all day. I heard one food truck was arranged last minute. Are there portapotties I hope, or at least access to the WB bathrooms? The 80% chance of rain doesn't help things. Also we are less than a day away from this thing and I still haven't heard anything concrete about the possible ticket or number system? I realize there are a lot of unknowns here for all involved, but if you are going to make a fairly big deal out of announcing something like this then you should be prepared for the onslaught you are about to create. Especially with the multitude of clusterfuck beer release threads you see on BA that should serve as lessons/ warnings. Again, I really hope I'm wrong but I'm nervous.

 

I don't disagree. I would feel much better if they said that they are releasing at 3pm and no ticket system or ticket system was to prevent line cutting. They will give out tickets sometime before the official 3pm timeframe but don't expect to show up at 8am and get a ticket then leave.

Luckily I have all day to waste but I don't want to go Westbrook at 8am trying to get a ticket.

As it stands, I don't have a freakin clue what time to show up. If people weren't allowed to leave, then I have a good idea of when I should show up.

I have been screwed over once before in a situation like this. I was told the release was at xx time. I showed up three hours early and I was told that they gave out all the tickets 6 hours earlier and people with tickets were allowed to pickup their item anytime that day.

 

Just saw on FB where it is now 2 food trucks. That's an improvement.

 

Yea, coming from 4 hours away I wish there were no tickets being given out! I think I would be staked in line with a good chance of getting an allotment at the time I plan on getting there but, no way I'm leaving at 4:00am to be there by 8:00 to get a ticket if that were to be the time they choose to start handing them out.

 

Their Facebook says tickets will be handed out at 2:30.
