Well definitely not since it kicked, but no. They never fill any farmers series or barrel aged beers.

Had some tonight. It was terrific.

It tapped out by 10 tonight. They're doing 1/6 barrel tappings the next two thursdays before it gets released in bottles.

It's a little boozy tasting for being just 10%, but it was definitely a beast I'd try again.

It was very good but I have a hard time believing it is only 10%.

I loved this brew. The vanilla character reminded me a lot of BAVDLs vanilla character

This beer tastes a nothing like Vanilla DL and isn't much like BCBS at all. The brew is medium bodied and mouth feel is slick instead of chewy. Low carb, and high heat. This beer has a lot more in common with 50/50 Eclipse EC12 and EC18/EC20 than it does with BCBS.

Still a very good beer a solid 4.25, but from some of the comments above it's a bit misrepresented.

I didn't say it tastes like BAVDL. I said the vanilla character is reminisce. I agree the MF is "5050 thin" (which is medium plus, medium-full bodied IMO) and a roasty or coffee element would have been awesome (alas such is not present)

I'm definitely interested in this - if anyone is interested in trading one when the bottles drop, let me know!

I've never had any of the Elijahs to compare so I can't comment on that, but I will say the smell is what reminded me the most of BCBS. I said as much when I got it and one of the brewers was at the bar, said it reminded him of 05 BCBS when it was first released and really hot. I found it kinda funny to think you can exactly remember how a beer tasted almost 10 years ago, especially in comparison to all future releases. Anyway I agree on the mouth feel, I would just say it reminded me now bcbs, not tastes like it exactly.

You certainly have, unless you were that far gone back in November during the big BA stouts tasting.

Had it last night as well. So F*#&ing delicious. It tastes like a creamy bourbon county.

Now that I am not typing from an iPhone...

I thought the beer was a nice mix of fresh bourbon county and EC18 50/50 type flavors, but much more vanilla-forward than either. While it was colder, fresh off the tap, the stout base was more prominent. As it warmed, the flavor was increasingly "marshmallow"-forward. This overshadowed the base qualities (particularly the chocolatiness) some, but I really love how the sweet, desserty vanilla tasted and was complemented by the other bourbon complexities. There is no added vanilla to this beer, per the brewer, but you could have fooled me. The degree of vanilla imparted by the barrel here is wonderful and it is this specific quality (not the flavor overall) that reminded me of the BAVDL (as opposed to the vanilla flavor in say stone smoked vanilla porter or scotty karate or a non-vanilla added bourbon barrel aged brew). Obviously YMMV since everyone's palate differs, but that's my 2 cents.
