Zwanze Day 2013

This makes me wonder what they will be able to offer in terms of other taps, and special kegs...

Part of the fun of Zwanze is not necessarily drinking that specific beer, but drinking the other rare and special offerings the bars have been saving and acquired specifically for that event. Looking at other location's tap lists from previous Zwanze Days, they seem to be very gueze/lambic centric, somthing we do not have label approval for locally.

What worries me is that the other cantillon, 3f, tilquin, de struise, and similar belgian offerings that show up at alot of bars for their Zwanze day will be lacking since they may not make it through Texas Label approval.

Will still likely be one hell of a party! Interesting to see what Jester King says about it!

 

Whoa - was not expecting this. Was contemplating flying home to Louisville to attend the one at Holy Grale, but I may have to reconsider.

 

This is like a fucking dream come true. Cantillon having an event in Texas. Who'd have EVER imagined?!

 

I'm also curious as to how this will happen. Especially since they will probably be a Brewpub by then and by self distributing they are waving the right to have guest kegs

 

They could still give away kegs for free, ala Fou'Foune back in 2011.

 

They could always just buy the distro rights to Cantillon and self-distro over to Stanley's. .

Ron/Jeff surely have a plan.

 

I guess that's true. I think if they give away any more kegs of Cantillon to us we should stop complaining about anything else they do That would be the third keg of Cantillon they've had that I know of

Glad I hadn't booked a trip to New Orleans yet. I'd prefer to do Jester King (because I'd spend WAY too much money in New Orleans), but will have to see details.

 

I think Cantillon/Jester King would have to pay the $6000 fee to do that and I'm not sure if they could do that as a brewpub. I think as a brewery they can also have a distribution service. I think Texas Big Beer is trying to do that. But again I don't know the details of the new laws

Awesome. I should be in town for the UT game. What time does this usually happen (I know it's first year at JK but asking about other locations and stuff).
