I didn't grasp the overall dynamic of the beer at 1st and have grown to love the harmony and duallity of styles.

    Cheers!

CBS. Nearly hated it when it came out, truly. Had a taste recently and really liked how the balance had shifted.

I rarely drink a beer twice unless I REALLY love it. But Sam Adams Boston Lager. It's not fantastic but I thought it was meh but I tried it recently at a bar and it was better then I remembered.

ipa's and ris's in general did this to me. when i first had an ipa all i could think was "why do people enjoy this bitter swill", and with the ris i though "why not skip the beer and go to whiskey at this point?". now i enjoy both styles very much.

I'd have to second Bigfoot. First time I tried it I couldn't finish a bottle of it. Now I am finishing up on building a 17 year vertical....

Jai Alai. Was my first IPA ever; I told myself I would never drink it again. About 6 mos. later I broke my rule and I'm glad I did. Such a bitter monster.

My first Big Foot was fresh, and I could barely get it down. After a year it was ok, with two years it is starting to taste good. Hopefully it will blossom into something wonderful - I have a case of 2010.

For me the first thing I thought of was Zuur, I could not stand it the first time I had it. I could only finish half a glass and gave the rest to my girlfriend since she loved it. I gave it another shot about 3 months later and absolutely loved it. My sub for it since it was a one off is Rodenbach.

Another one was coffee beers. I think the first one I had was a Long Trail coffee stout and I drain poured it after about 1/4 of a glass. I don't know what the next coffee beer I had was but they are one of my favorite styles now. I did revisit the Long Trail and enjoyed it a lot the second time around so it is not a poor beer.

This sometimes happens to me just through the life of a 4/6 pack. I remember my first Double Trouble having a vert astringent alcohol bit, and my first Flower Power just being mehh. by the end of those 4 and 6 packs they were both delicious.

I have found this to be true of certain beers that I get a case of; by the end the case, it is drinking better than it was at first.

St. Pauli girl for me. tasted better to me now than it did 15-20 years ago.

For me its usually the opposite, I find certain beers world class the 1st time, then just pretty good the next time around and progressively less interesting. If I buy a 6-12 pack of my favorite craft beer and drink 1 per night all week...usually I don't want or crave the flavors of that beer anymore. I'm weird I know. Now cheap light beers, it never affects me. I never grow tired of the taste, except for the lack of flavor makes me crave something more flavorful (but doesn't make my dislike the cheap watery beer).

Hopdevil. I had it a couple of times and never tasted any hop profiles. I got a fresh bottle while I visited Chicago and was amazed.

I didn't like Lagunitas Sucks the first time I had it, but it was on my first IPAs.

And now I'll never get to try it again, waaaaaaaah

I would say the same to an extent, the first time I had Hopdevil I thought it was very mediocore, but now I would say it is one of my favorite IPA's.

For me, the answer would be 3F Alpha King. Drain poured my first one about 12 years ago, now I really like it.

I had a similar experience with ruination. the first time I hated it. Second time, about 6 months later, well...
