    Scotland yayyy!!

I'm assuming that it's completely up to the host venue but is this generally a ticketed event at most places?

At least Stone has the staffing, parking, space and experience to pull it off reasonably well. Who else in SD would be a better choice?

Also, isn't there a bottleshare during/after that is an extra for going?

Any members from IL who went last year want to chime in on how it was?

I think they should have picked the Beachwood in Long Beach instead.

First come first served. I went to Monks Cafe in Philly for the 2010 and 2011 events. A mad crush at the bar and some pissed off people but other than that some really damn good beer. Plus they have several different Cantillons on tap besides the Zwanze. Now that I live in AZ I will probably head over to Stone this September as they are the closest to me.

Went twice two years in a row... had no issues, although the last time was pretty crazy...

I am not so sure how well it's going to go this time... I am honestly tempted to not even bother simply because it might just get overkill this time around when it really doesn't have to be...

Interesting that Jester King got this. Cantillon is in no way approved for sale in Texas. Good for them that JK got it, but interesting that they can...Still a lot of questions need to be answered.

Namely... how are they gonna pull it off? Because right now they can't sell the beer legally in Texas, lol.

They might give it away and charge for event tickets or even better: license Cantillon into sale in Texas. That's about a $6,000 licensing fee in this state (per two years) plus $75 per label/keg approval, however. Along with any agreements that need to be made with Cantillon. In 2 months.

Even more confusing is that our laws just changed in Texas and Jester King is transitioning from a production brewery license to a brewpub license as we speak.

I've gone the past 2 years and had no issues. 2011 was super tame and second pours of Zwanze were available for a decent amount of time if you wanted one. Last year was more hectic but I had no issues although it was easier for me since I knew about the policy of having to reserve a pour from the year before while others clearly didn't. I wouldn't expect it to be any calmer this year but I'm hoping that some people might be better Jews than me and not go since it's Yom Kippur.

What was the problem? Churchkey is churchkey. (#thatssochurchkey)

They allow you to pre-order pours before the designated release time. This leads to confusion if A) you are not aware of that policy and get there early but wait till the release time to try to order or B) you do preorder, but CK oversells the preorders and you still don't get a pour anyways.

I've personally not had issues at CK past two years (first year anyone that wanted a second pour could get it) but last year I heard from a not insignificant number of people that got bit by A) or B).
