I regularly get growlers of Toppling Goliath beers filled in Hudson, Wisconsin. A few weeks ago, a keg of PseudoSue blew while they were filling one of my growlers. Rather than give me beer from two separate kegs, they discarded the first fill and poured me a fresh one. They told me why it was taking so long, and now they have a customer for life. In fact, I was just there tonight getting a growler filled with ZeeLander.

I've never had a keg blow on me filling a growler but over the years have had many blow getting a pint, all except one time when only an ounce or two were poured I was given the partially filled pint for free. One time some buddies and me went to a bar on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and some beers. When we arrived 3 of the 12 taps were out. During our lunch our group ended up draining 3 of the 9 remaining kegs receiving two 3/4 full pitchers and one 1/2 full pitcher. We were only charged for the one full pitcher we received and half price for one of the 3/4 full pitchers. A healthy tip was left:sunglasses:

I got totally douched over at Selinsgrove Brewing once. Phoenix Kriek was advertised as being on tap as per the website. Called and confirmed it was on. Explained to them I was driving 3.5 hours each way from NJ on a Tuesday night to get multiple growlers filled. They assured me it was a good time and that they could accommodate me. Got there and drank a glass of it at the bar. Handed them my 4 growlers and she came back with 1 full growler, 1 growler filled 1/3 of the way, and 2 empty growlers. She said the keg they had on kicked and that they weren't going to be tapping any more kegs until the next day. To add insult to injury, she charged me for the growler filled 1/3 of the way.

In that case, you should complain. You're more entitled to at that point if you clearly informed them.

Well-preserved Sculpin, while common in many places(especially the east coast ) , is not considered a worthwhile purchase by most Beer Advocates.
