Take Yule, remove all the spice and replace it with pretty much zero barrel character, then feel ashamed for paying $15 for it.

 

Yule was awful to me too. I have a free bottle to anyone that wants it and will pick it up.

 

are you serious Brad... I absolutely loved that beer! The spices were freaking amazing!

The only acceptable pumpkin beers I've had are punkin ale from DFH and St. Arnold Pumpkinator. And frankly pumpkinator is more "pumpkin-y", so I'd crown that the king (never had Pumking). Everything about that beer was weak to me. Oh almost forgot, I actually really enjoyed Krunkin Pumpkin from Karbach. Loved that actually. Weird, huh?

 

Have you had Krunkin recently? I feel that it has gotten better. I still have one bomber left to do a side by side with a new batch.

An all Pumpkin bottle share... Sounds beautiful doesn't it...

 

I only had two bottles, and I gave one to my friend a long time ago. I can't imagine that beer getting better, but I'd love to try it.

 

Agreed, Yule is like an imperial Anchor OSA, and I love it. They need to package YSYEO and Fra Gee Lay into a gift box and maybe a glass. They could call it, A Major Award.

 

That glass has to look like a leg, it is the only way I will find it acceptable as a gift!

I can see that. I don't think the bottles held up all that well. I liked it fresh, and with a few months it was still good, but obviously going downhill. I will certainly get more fresh bottles, but I can already tell it does not hold up over time nearly as well as OSA.

 

Once those spices fade it tastes like Fra-gee-ay. At least pricing is better... lol

 

I've been to black Sunday, but is there like a "Seasonal Sunday"? I would love the shit out of that. Pumpkin spice overload!
