This has been on for a while at Lyndale Tap House (they also had 7 as of Saturday). I had some and thought it was awful (my buddy gave me his glass after he didn't like it).

I agree. I thought it was a great dandelion beer. It is unique and refreshing.

Muddy Waters still had plenty of XXV as of later on last night. Was pleasantly surprised to see they had tapped some Seviin as well.

Pleasently surprised to find Lake Erie Monster (full pint pours) at 3 Squares. Their lineups have been kinda weak recently. May just be that time of year though.

Was just going to post the same - lately I've been lucky if they have one beer that even barely excites me.

Wish we had the options like Mpls does. It seems you only have to drive/walk only a couple blocks/miles between kick ass tap lineups.

Drinking a 21st Amendment Hop Crisis right now (at home).
    Pretty tasty.
I would like to try this one on tap, if anyone has seen it around anywhere.

Considering how cheap their happy hour is, Longfellow Grill had a couple decent selections yesterday. I believe $3 for a Crooked Tree (may have been $4) pint.

Speaking of happy hours, you can't beat a place that has 2 for 1 deals and some decent taps. Last night, I had to go to Hopkin's Tavern to meet up with somebody who was in town for one night. We were only going in for one and I ordered an Odells IPA. When she put through 2 pints, I thought that she had heard me wrong until she pointed out the special. 2 pints of Odel's IPA for $5! Not bad at all.

That place has more handles devoted to BMC & American adjunct lagers than any place I've ever been. I remember seeing their billboard on 169, "32 taps!" It needed a asterisk stating it was only 12 craft taps.
In their defense there are always two or three good to damn good beers on tap.

The worst thing is that they have duplicates of all those taps on both sides of the bar, which doesn't make much sense for many of the adjunct lagers or the craft. They are never going to be cranking out that much Summit Oatmeal Stout or Old Style lager. What they should do is have some duplicates of their most popular, which I assume has to be things like bud light, but then have a different focus for each side and expand the selection within each category. So one side of the bar has a focus on craft/decent imports (and the couple of the top selling adjuncts, just so the bartenders don't have to keep switching sides) and the other side is focused on BMC and then they also add on more things that appeal to those taste buds, like Heineken, etc. The amount of taps in that place that are all duplicated for a not very large place, is a complete waste. But like you said, there are always a handful of goodies, no matter what. For a place like that, for me to be able to still have the choice of three awesome IPAs (Two Hearted, Odells and Saga), is really great.

Double crooked tree, citra crooked tree and FF crooked tree still on tap in Rochester at Tap House. Snuck away from the hospital for a few hours today and had one of each.

SeVIIn still on at Stubs last night. Muddy Waters is out.

Amazing that Stubs has gone from beer mecca to barely-on-the-radar beer backwater over the last few years.

I think that has something to do with Jon not being there. He always posted stuff on here to let people know what was going on. Now he posts on Summits behalf. I don't think it's a surprise that I have found myself at more Summit events as of lately.

I noticed the same thing from how big S&H was when I used to visit the area for years and when I finally moved here a few months ago, I noticed that they never get mentioned at all. I have gone there once since I moved here and had a good time; solid selection when I was there and met some good beer guys. I remember there was some drama there a few years back, where the manager(?) was laying down the rules on only pouring local and got a little vocal on sites like this with some hard love that many didn't appreciate and then he was gone (left? let go?). It seems like from that point on, S&H became less and less relevant. Did people get a bad taste in their mouths because of the drama? Or was he the one doing everything that was making it relevant and nobody picked up the slack? Or was it all just a natural part of the evolution of the local beer scene where S&H seemed a lot better when there wasn't much competition, but with more and more places showing up, S&H just fell into the background? Certainly, for me, it is mainly a parking issue that keeps me from visiting more often, but I don't think that is anything new over the past few years.

Yes, the manager at Stubs (Jon) used to promote the place very well, & it became a gathering point for us geeks when the scene was a lot smaller years ago. There were people who vowed never to go again after Jon was let go, so that's likely part of it. Another bit might be the newer folks don't even realize it's a good beer bar. It would certainly be easy to be fooled, being a U of M bar & all. And the parking does suck; I've been parked-in in that postage-stamp sized lot before.

Pretty sure that I met him once, if I am thinking of the right guy. On a slow afternoon, I was in there and a pretty heavily tatted guy was talking to me about the event that he was getting ready for and he bought me a beer and tatter tots (he couldn't believe that I had never had them before). Was he the guy with the sleeve tattoos? Where is he now?
