I will be in Bowling Green this weekend. I was wondering if anyone knew any good places to grab some good beer in the or around the area. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I went to Chuck's and it has a bigger selection. Then I went to Wino's Depot and while smaller had a better selection and more experienced employees that knew their stuff. They also have taps on premise with quite a collection. you can get an idea from some of their FB pics, but I don't think they have posted their recents.

Forgot to mention, Wino's Depot is two doors down from Lost River Pizza Co. and they had 4 taps of FFF beers(two weeks ago) and good pizza. Those two places are the must visits IMO.

There are multiple locations for Chuck's. A bit out of the way maybe, but I think the best for beer is the one on Veteran's Blvd. You might as well check out Liquor Barn on Campbell lane also. Around the corner from there is Greenwood Spirits Shop on Scottsville Rd. Greenwood was into good imports long before anyone else, and will have a few selections that may differ from the others.

Stop downtown if you have a chance. Mellow Mushroom has 32 taps and they are up to about 90 bottles. They are tapping Tripel Karmeliet and another good Flanders Red today. There's also the Cigar Shop that is a nice place for a smoke and a bottle. The Cigar Shop has one or two taps and will do growlers.

The expert experience at Wino's is likely a thing of the past since the folks that everyone when to see at Wino's are no longer there.

I picked up a 2009 Sam Adams Utopias from the Chuck's on Veterans Memorial Lane last October. They get mad points in my book just for having that. If you're looking for anything rare, ask them if they have it under the counter. That's where the Utopias was.

Winos is not what it once was. Since their expert left most of the reason to go there is gone. If you know exactly what you want then it serves a purpose.
