Really?!?! I'll keep my fingers crossed with you. Could you imagine walking into a beer shop in VA and buying Duet, Nelson, etc? That would be exciting!

Considering how Alpine bottles sell out instantly at bottle shops and there are only 2 bars in SD that regularly have Alpine on tap, I doubt they're going to be expanding distribution that much.

That being said, I'm certainly excited to see more Alpine beers around town. Especially those three

It looks like they're only going to be brewing cans in MN, which is good because if its not as good as the stuff in SD (or has slow delivery), we'll know what to avoid.

Last winter a friend told me he shipped me 12 bottles of Alpine Beer directly from the brewery. 4 Nelson, 4 Duet, &
4 Pure Hoppiness. They all arrived safely with one catch. There were only 3 Pure Hoppiness. So, either someone at the brewery made a mistake or someone along the shipping route realized what was in the box [it had an Alpine label on it]. My money is on someone along the shipping route. But the other 11 were delicious.

Hold up - before any more wild speculation takes hold, I should have said, "I am also anxiously awaiting news [of the possibility] of Alpine being available in VA." Haha, yes - it would be super sweet to get bottles of Duet/Nelson/etc. in VA at some point, but it says that they are kegging only - so our best hope is that some draft makes its way here, and maybe cans later on. Time will tell, but I sure fucking hope it happens!

I doubt they'll have guest beers, but I wouldnt be surprised if part of the deal included unlimited Alpine beer for the workers. Or at least for Chuck Silva and Mike Hinkley.

And I'm definitely hoping (and guessing) that alpine should be showing up at quite a few more bars.

I hope GF and Alpine do one collaboration. Alpine and New Belgium did a "Super IPA" a couple of years ago-it was one of my favorites that year. With GF and Alpine's talents with hops, something awesome could come out of it.

I'm a little skeptical that GF is doing this with absolutely no skin in the game. I too am interested if Alpine fills will be available at GF, though, since its way closer to my house, but I find that highly unlikely.

As for VA, the arrangement is only a year, and the VA facility for Alpine isn't even opening for over a year from now.

True, when Alpine makes it to the Bay Area I'll probably mostly be buying it on draft, I'm just that way with most IPAs these days.

I predict better IPA variants for greenflash in the near future along with some barrel aged goodies coming from Alpine

You're missing out big time if you haven't been giving them a chance.

Most Californians still can't get Alpine. This new capacity will likely not even satisfy in-state demand. Alpine is seriously small as it is. It's amazing how well known they are, considering their output. Basically a brewpub that bottles some beer and gets kegs out to a few accounts.

Well, the one beer that I hear everyone gush about is the WCIPA. I'm not an IPA fan, so I never really bothered. But, I saw their Double Stout on shelves the other day, and I've heard good things up here recently on that. So I'll pick it up next time I'm out making purchases.

Based upon what bulletrain76 posted above, I would not hold your breath on getting Alpine on the East Coast. It is my guess that Alpine will use the contract brewed beers (brewed at Green Flash and Cold Springs) to serve the folks in California who are presently not getting Alpine beers.

Since I am a fan of Alpine beer (particularly Duet) I hope that my guess is wrong.

    Cheers!

P.S. I recently homebrewed my version of Duet; the Amarillo and Simcoe hops combination is indeed a glorious thing!

now we just need someone to do some non-contract BBQing for Alpine here in central PA. Their beer is great, but their BBQ is better I reckon:slight_smile:
