You must have got it fresher than I did or I got a bad batch, because when I tried it, it was like drinking ash and meat, not good.

Imperial Biscotti Break and soft DK are the only other two of his beers I've tried and they were both excellent.

I have had four of their stouts and they received a 4.25, 4.5, 4.5, and a 4.5 from me. I would say that is pretty good.

I have had their Yin, imperial biscotti break, mas cafe jesus, and even more jesus. Get one bottle of each and enjoy. They are well thought out beers that have that special attention to detail. They may not be worth that price (because almost no beers are), but they are simply great beers that off a complexity of delicious flavors.

Oh and do not think about the price while drinking, just sit back and enjoy. Also the 22oz bottles are awesome for sharing with other stout lovers. My brother in law almost exploded from the taste of the even more jesus. That helps justify the cost....

I love Lil B and Even More Jesus. Both solid stouts/porters and with Lil b in 4pks now, price isn't so prohibitive.

Even More Jesus was excellent! Questionable at the price, but no regrets here.

IBB is the only Evil Twin beer that I've had that really was worth the price. Even More Jesus, Aun Mas Jesus Cafe (or whatever the hell it's called), Lil B, and Soft DK were all really good beers, but not for what I paid.

So I guess my thoughts are, if you can afford it, then Evil Twin is damn good.

To maybe give you a frame of reference, Imperial Biscotti Break tastes an awful lot like a more chocolate forward version of the Abyss. I might get flamed for this, but I find it as complex as Huna.

Evil Twin: Good brews, some excellent. Over priced? Hard to say, but definitely up there in the $/oz spectrum. Though if they were a brewery only release with limited bottle count nobody would bitch about their prices

People with this view need to reevaluate, there has been a significant price drop in much of the ET line now that they have more consistency with brewing (mainly coming out of CT and NC). It still isn't cheap, but definitely beats Mikkeller pricing by a mile.

    I resist.
Because my first was The Cowboy. Tasted like liquid campfire to me.
    (I'm not into smoked beers)

Then the Cowboy was a bad choice I'd say haha. Try some others and ET may grow on you

I think I can buy a greater quantity of high quality beer for my money. Those are my thoughts.

This brewery doesn't have the pedigree yet to demand that kind of price tag in my opinion. And I've read Jeppe's cries about how hard he works and why beer is expensive and I just don't give a fuck about that as a consumer. Jeppe is not a non profit doing good work for people in need, so I'm not down to pay exorbitant prices.

I bought Imperial Biscotti once, I've passed on it every time I've seen it since. I pretty much consider it a shelf turd at this point.

I agree with that and add Aun Cafe Jesus or whatever it is called to that list. Both are awesome.

Oh by the way, I smelled smoke for 3 days. Reviews seem to make it sound only slightly smokey. I don't know if its just because it was my first and (currently) last smoked beer or if its smokier on tap than from bottle. I finished it though. I probably would have liked it if I knew what I was getting in to. I have been tempted to try other ET offerings lately.

Discount Liquor in Milwaukee gets a VERY limited selection, I'm talking like 4 or 5 beers.

Imperial Biscotti Break is an excellent beer and definitely worth the price tag. Their other stouts (Even More Jesus, Aun Mas, etc) are excellent but pricey. If they were a couple bucks cheaper a bottle I'd buy them all the time.
