I concur. I loved the food and thought their dubbel on sour cherries was damn near 3 Philosophers good( yes I know 3P is a quad).

The spot you're staying in Denver doesn't give you a whole lot of places to drink without driving/cabbing it somewhere (I don't live too far from there). I would say if you have time throw in Copper Kettle it's not that far from where you're staying.

    Bringing beers to trade?

If this place is open you would want to check it out as they plan to carry the best of the local scene. I have met the owner a few times and he knows his beers around town. If they are not open you could check out http://coloradoplus.net/ for dinner and some beers. Only Colorado beers as well.

I'm debating it, I don't have a great cellar but I have some fun stuff. Might stock up on some Prairie and Jester King stuff and set up a trade or two.

And we will be cabbing it most everywhere in Denver, I try to never drink and drive.

On a separate note- Are there any festivals going on the last week of August I should try to make it to?

How do you keep your wife interested? Or does she enjoy the beer as much as you do.
My wife will drive to breweries with me but since she doesn't drink at all, she loses interest quickly.

A good resource for festivals and other things is fermentedlychallenged.com

It has a section for festivals in Colorado among a wealth of other info

She loves beer too, she is more of a wine person but totally happy with beer. I am a homebrewer and we want to open a nano in the future, so this is considered research

I am indeed very fortunate, she's a winner!

Anyone want to do an in-person trade for some of the cellar reserve crooked stave stuff I def won't be able to find? Let me know if you would be willing, we have some good stuff coming out of Texas.

When in Fort Collins, you got to stop by Choice City Butchery for something to eat.

TRVE Brewing down in Denver is a worthy stop if you have the time. And are you aware that Oskar Blues has a couple different facilities offering different things. Tasty Weasal is their taproom, Liquids and Solids is their pub/restaurant, and think they have one more spot too out in Lyons.

If you have a car, I highly recommend adding a visit to Dry Dock to your list. Their core beers are solid and their seasonals go from solid to mind-blowingly good. They had a Cocoa Nibs Stout a few months back that was f'n incredible.

Edit: I also recommend calling Crooked Stave to see what they have on-tap prior to going. Every once in a while, they're only serving Surette, Vielle, and St Bretta - all of which you can buy in the stores here. In that case, I'd prioritize other breweries over a visit there. But if they have something exciting on tap - say, Nightmare on Brett or Origins - a visit there would be at the top of my list.

Ditch Breck, go to Prost. Or Crooked Stave twice.
I would also check out the Mayor if you are going to Funkwerks.
