I heard they may relocate, any idea if that is true?

Yeah, we've heard really good things about Shorts, and we'll make it if we can. If not, it'll give us a reason to come back

This closing is new news to me. The owner told me last Fall that he was going to close and move into Jackson, but that was so long ago I thought he gave up on the idea, especially after Grand River has opened downtown. We shall see.

If you make it to Holland, stop by the new brewery called "Our Brewing Company." I just had a couple beers there that were very good. Also, it's like 2 doors down from New Holland and their (imo) sub-par beer.

The owner of Bad Bear has moved to downtown Jackson to what is now called Grand River Marketplace and brewery. They have really good beer and the chef is from Three Penny Taproom in Vermont.

Don't be too scared off by Vivants versions of the Belgian style. They tend to be less assertive with the yeast characteristics than other Belgian style breweries. Check you the Duck Nachos too.

Paw Paw Brewing just south of Kalamazoo recently opened a general store attached to their larger production brewery. It sounds like they have been doing tours, and they are still relatively small. Bell's does tours on the weekends of the original downtown brewery, and I believe that the monstrosity that is their production brewery out of town is open for self guided tours during normal hours. If you have any interest in heading west from Kalamazoo about 45 minutes, you can hit Greenbush and Livery. Livery makes great beer and still flys under the radar. You can also dip your toes into the lake.
I tell everyone that has stated that they aren't fans of Belgians to give Vivant brews a chance, and definitely go there hungry. It's the best bar food I've ever had.

I would suggest if you are hitting up Warren for Kuhnhenn, then swing by Dragonmead as well. It's less then 10 minutes away. Or thereabouts. Also, I suggest Witch's Hat in South Lyon. About 15-20 min west of ann arbor. Small, newer brewery but I love it.

It's your other 'west' the one that is called 'North.'

Is it north? I know its up 23 a couple miles, but I thought you went west after plymouth. Regardless, its close.

WH is a little east of due north, but tis is the same thread that has PawPaw south of
Kalamazoo - more westerly on the map, Portage is South of Kalamazoo.

I didn't catch the one about the mis-direction to Paw Paw. We don't want to send visitors to Michigan off into the wrong direction on their itineraries, do we?!

I'm guilty. In my defense, 94 does drift south-west'ish from Kzoo towards the lake shore. I did mean to say west of Kzoo, thanks for the clarification!

Directions in Michigan are difficult. Just ask Journey. #southdetroit

Dragonmead is right by Kuhnhenn that's not bad, also there's a place called Kalamazoo Beer Exchange right by bells that's worth checking out. There's also Brewery Vivant in grand rapids.

Gotta hit up the Holy Trinity of Kalamazoo beer bars, or at least the two right by Bell's: KBE and Shakespeare's (CCTH is the other, not as close though (but still walkable)).
