Specs in Victoria had at least a dozen bottles of 004 on the shelf today. I heard mixed reviews near so couldn't bring myself to pay $14 for the bomber. Brought home a sixer of Hopadillo instead.

 

It was on tap today at the brewery, I wasn't there but I had a friend tell me.

 

I've had it twice now and I think it was worth buying. I wouldn't and didn't horde bunches, but I'm glad I ended up with a couple to share with friends.

 

I was there volunteering, and indeed it was in kegs. They will have kegs at the brewery through the rest of the summer. This becoming a year round brew later this year, and they anticipate it's canned release coming in December..

They also (briefly) had a cask of rodeo clown aged on oak chips there... it last until about 12:15. I got a glass as I was volunteering, but the place was packed and i was pouring, so didnt really get the opportunity to sit down and enjoy it.... I can quickly comment that I liked the Bodacious a lot more...

final tidbit - Cherries on Fire is in the bright tanks, it just went there last week. It will be there for at least 2, then packaged and allowed to condition in the cold box for a couple of more... according to the staff anyway.... by this info, the 8/5 date is out the door, and it'll likely be closer to the middle/end of august.

I picked up a bomber of Hop Delusion the other day and noticed that it no longer packs the punch that they did fresh off of the line. Are these starting to show their age or did I maybe just get a bad one?

 

Maybe a 8/12 release date then? I'm just hoping because after that I go out of town for two weeks. It will most likely happen while I'm gone, that's how it always works.

It's been bad out of the bottle for at least a week, possibly longer.

I had one Saturday night... tasted fine to me. Not as good as the super fresh bottle, but still quite delusional (it might help that it's been stored at 55 degrees since I bought it the day after distribution) As an added bonus most of the hop floaties had drifted to the bottom of the bottle, so the first glass was crystal clear...

 

I heard that HD was dropping off, too, so I asked Karbach on Twitter about batch dates and whether they planned on dating bottles, but got no response.

 

If I remember correctly from the drink of ages radio show interview, there won't be another run for awhile. It's hopped with mosaic which is hard to come by reliably.

 

I think HD was 1 bottling.
