Hello All, I will be in Kansas City tomorrow night and wanted to see if anyone could point me in the direction of a couple places with a good selection of craft beer, even better if they have some local stuff on tap. Prefer to stay on the Kansas side but will venture to wherever within reason. Thank you in advance.
Where in KCK will you be? On the Kansas side (sout of KC) in the shawnee or Lenexa area you have Barley's Brewhaus, but I would go ahead and go to the MO side and hit up The Foundry, McCoys and Beer Kitchen all in Westport. Waldo Pizza or Bier Station in Waldo (soth of Westport on MO side).
I'll be driving through tomorrow around 5pm and am looking for a BBQ joint for dinner. Any recommendations?
The original Oklahoma Joes is in my top 5 eating experiences. KC just has great food. I've been Jack Stack and Bryant's too for BBQ. Grinders is a cool place with an interesting menu and Strouds has great fried chicken. All great and offer unique dishes. I don't have any healthy recommendations.
Just cuz I am from Colorado doesn't mean I'm trying to eat healthy. I think Oklahoma Joes it is. I am driving through to St. Louis tonight so don't think I want to spend the time to eat at Jack Stack. Thanks for the help.
I'm jealous. Their sauce is great, I have a bottle of their sauce in my fridge. Follow up with your thoughts on how it goes, it is a tough call to choose between the Z-Man or the ribs. I just spoke with someone from KC about OK Joes last week, and she said the other locations aren't as good as the original. That was just her take.
Oklahoma Joes was fire! Had an hour to wait in line but met some good folks to pass the time with. Had the hogamaniac dinner which had ribs, pulled pork and sausage. I really liked the ribs and pulled pork but the sausage was weak. I picked up a bunch of runs and sauces to take home. Thanks for the help guys. I am at the St. Louis flying saucer right now. If any BAs are here I got beers. I am the extremely handsome man at the bar in a great divide shirt.
Thanks for the Free State suggestion. Had a few of their brews (at Flying Saucer) and have been impressed. Will be looking out for Marshall. Tallgrass is killing it. We're loving them in Minnesota. Send us as much as you got.
