Never had Slainte, but this could be interesting. Wouldn't tell me much even if I had tried it anyway, Satin Solstice is weak sauce yet Peruvian Morning and BBS are great.

too cold on draft? IMO, if you let these beers warm up, BB comes through more.

Backwoods Bastard is one of my favorite beers, so I'd love to try a few of these.

Much different than Backwoods, which has a crazy vanilla nose and is smoother than smooth. CW BB Scotch is a tad more harsh and really borderlined on Old Ale for me. Both are so ridiculously good.

Drinking one right now, picked it up @ Trigs in Wausau along with a 4 pak of wild sour from New G. This is good, not mind blowing stop the press good but worth buying another 6 pack or two due to the lack of good bourbon releases in this area.

Is this a traditionally made Scotch ale/Scottish barleywine, or is it a peat-smoked one?

Assuming they make this the way the Scots do, there really isn't much difference between a Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy and an old ale anyway. Which also means there isn't much difference between a Scotch ale and an English barleywine. Hence why I call them Scottish barleywines.

I get no peat smokiness from this beer. I think the base is a traditional Scotch Ale.

If it is and your going, stock up! I think this would age tremendously AND it is amazing right now too.

I've been looking forward to this beer for a long time. Unfortunately, I still have not seen it in the Chicago suburbs, and I'm starting to lose hope...

Has anyone out there found this in the Chicago burbs??? I may just go ahead and make the drive up to Wisconsin to make sure I can get my hands on it. Any help locating this release would be awesome.

Still waiting for it to hit Green Bay so I think distribution is taking a while. May have to pick it up in Milwaukee on Wednesday when I am down there just in case....
