haymarket brewpub in chicago

    got to visit your lovely city this past weekend to see pearl jam at wrigley field.
    haymarket was the only beercentric thing i could fit into my trip and am glad i did. excellent space, great beers, cool vibe. about 30 of us took over the back room and had a blast.
    are these guys ever gonna end up bottling their goods? some really tasty brews over there.
    very much enjoyed the saison and the **** sock double ipa.

    Next time you're in Chicago you need to check out Hopleaf, Map Room, Sheffields, Four Moons, Piece, Half Acre, Goose Island Brewpub on Clybourn, Beer Bistro, Publican, Revolution and Twisted Spoke.

    Sadly you didn't get a chance to try their barrel-aged stuff. It is fantastic.

    this weekend i found their menu to be too hop-centric. I did enjoy that experimental pale ale they had on, loads of resiny pine, spearmint and tropical fruits. Thought the honey beer was too honey-y. But bravo on the dry hopped belgian.

    oh, and the brine burger and the burger with chocolate, guacamole and raspberry (buddy and I split the two), holy smokes... Haymarket, A+ burger offerings this time around.

    I love this place as well. I started a new job about 9 months ago and found out this place is like 3 blocks from my office. Been going there a couple times a month ever since. The menu can be pretty hop heavy at times, but it is constantly rotating. If you ever see Indignant on the tap list, run don't walk, over to Halsted and Randolph.
