Zombie Dust turns into BCBS if you leave it in the cellar for two years.

I'm not sure what the point of this thread is. Do you really not know that pale ales shouldn't be aged? Are you just trying to brag that you'll be getting Zombie Dust?

I wasn't trying to brag at all. I wasn't talking about saving it for years, and I read somewhere that it was bottle conditioned so I figured I would ask people who I acknowledge are more knowledgeable than me.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge, but I had read somewhere that it is bottle conditioned so I wasn't sure. If you'd like me to send you a bottle or two BM me.

The first time I just let it go, but now I have to say something. A beer being bottle-conditioned has basically nothing to do with whether or not it will age well.

I'm new here so this is the type of thing I'm looking to learn. Thanks for saying something

Or, alternatively, you should be aging beer so you can figure out what happens to them and what YOU like.

    ^This.

The yeast in a bottle conditioned beer with definitely do stuff to the beer over time, but the lack of yeast in a non-bottle conditioned beer does not mean that it won't change. This seems to be a common and oft repeated misconception.

    Back from the dead.

So a friend is sending me Zombie Dust, but it took longer than expected to ship, it was bottled Aug 21st or right around there. Will it still be good or does it fall off that fast? Just don't know if I should still be excited about getting it.

It will still be good. It won't be amazing though.

Too bad, I was really hoping to get this within a week or two, I have tried to be patient, hopefully it will still be good. Might get a Teku glass as well which could help lessen the blow.

It will be delicious. In my experience, you can only move towards having it fresher. You'll have it a month old, and it will taste like a really good "Pale Ale" that you would want to try even fresher.

Then you'll reach a point where you'll be drinking it on draft at the source, thinking, man life is pretty good right now. And you'll scoff about the time you drank that month old swill.

But for now you're golden. But once you have it fresher, you'll never want to drink it any other way.

That's a good point, I would hate to have it fresh from the tap the first time and it just isn't ever the same. I'm sure I will be happy with it.
