I've brewed 20 gallons in the last month (4 batches). This is a good run for me. I've actually filled my keezer to the brim and I'm hoping to finish the month out strong with one more batch. I never got my parti-gyle in last weekend and I might try to pull this off. If not I to get a Oktoberfest going. I'm always looking for inspiration.

Fruit is SOO cheap right now. It's the best time of summer.

Going to do 18 gallons of a Belgian Dark strong and 6 of a wheat on Tuesday. I was going to brew it yesterday but there was too much going on at work. Just pulled the 1214 out for the first stage of the dark strong for tomorrow.

I've got two 5g batches milled and ready.

Black IPA with chinook cascade and citra. No starter cause I'm lazy and have us05 for it. Should be tasty though. Pretty excited about this one. New style for me.

Then I've got a starter crashing for another step up Czech pilsner yeast. Got a nice but of it going now one more to go for my pilsner I'm brewing behind the black ipa Saturday. All saaz hops and should be good. First lager I'm doing so I hope it goes well.

Looking forward to this weekends brewing for a change. New styles and makes me happy to diversify my keezer more.

Plan to check on my pappy van winkle russian imperial to see if its aged enough to keg and carb and then bottle soon. Want to have it done and ready by early September when my twin boys are born. Plan to hand out waxed bottles and save a bunch to drink as long as I can on their birthdays.

Tuesday/Wed. is my new brewday so yes, hope to brew the Berliner Weisse we had planned for this past Tuesday/Wed. with the replacement 5335 I got from my LHBS (other one was dead). Starter going in today, fingers crossed, the replacement came in the same shipment, but he wouldn't order a new one until I tried this one first.

Did an IPA yesterday with Magnum, Nugget, Mosaic, Citra, and Nelson, and pitched Conan.

Well I picked up grains for the CACA, an oatmeal stout (been craving oatmeal stout lately, summer or not), and the double-smash vienna/munich+belma/cascade.

Hops for the CACA are (almost) decided, and will be either willamette or tettnanger.

Hops for the oatmeal stout are TBD, but I was thinking perhaps one or more of bravo, cluster, belma, or even just magnum by itself. I don't want this oatmeal stout to be too hoppy, I want the roasty and oat-ey flavors to come through more. Thus, bittering will be more of the concern than late hop flavor (although I'll still toss in a little late hops, like I always do).

Also picked up a few supplies, including one of the new 10 gallon batch size fermenter buckets. Supposedly it has all the room you need for krausen, and doesn't need an airlock (actually, doesn't even have a hole for an airlock). It's sort of like a trash can, but the lid fits tighter and goes down over the edges further than most trash cans (but doesn't completely seal, obviously air has to escape). And it's made from plastic meant for use in brewing. Most importantly tho, it will fit inside my 2nd freezer chest, and will hold ten gallons of beer, which will allow me to have two ten gallon batches going at once.

Also picked up a few more specialty grains and base grains, just small quantities of a few different types for my Mr Beer keg experimental / small batch / partial mash / T-58 type brews. Whatever goes into these batches won't be decided until the last possible moment. About ready to start batch 1, which will include ... (brace yourself) ... amber extract! :grimacing: As I said, experimental! Gotta try some of these ingredients I haven't tried before at least once. Either I'll create the next new sensation in my dungeon of extreme beer pontification (i.e. my room), or I'll be the only one who ever drinks these beers, because they'll be too weird to admit to in public after they're made. Probably the latter.

Also trying to decide on a new hop schedule for the APA IPA, using the same base grains. I'm out of simcoe, I only have a few ounces left of centennial, and I don't intend to shop for hops. I need an IPA to celebrate something coming up soon, and I'm, gonna name it Quack-Slapp-er IPA. Probably best you don't ask about the name. But the hops schedule... so many possibilities, so few gallons of beer! What's a beer-nerd to do when you want to make them all? Definitely gonna use some magnum at 60 (but not much, didn't need much last time either). After that, I was thinking anything from floral to piney to dank to fruity to citrus to... heck, I'm at a moment of indecision here. Need inspiration... <goes and pops open a beer> ... ok, got it! I think I have exactly enough centennial left to do this...

equal mixture of cascade/centennial/willamette, 4.5 oz each

    magnum 17 grams oz 60
0.5 oz each cascade, centennial, willamette at 15
0.5 oz each cascade, centennial, willamette at 10
0.5 oz each cascade, centennial, willamette at 5
1 oz each cascade, centennial, willamette at 0
1 oz each cascade, centennial, willamette dry hop

11 oz hops total, 64 IBUs

So I'm off to decide on a hops schedule for my stout, and to get another beer. It is, after all <checks clock> 7:35am? What the heck am I doing going for a second beer right now? I think my internal clock is all discombobulated. Beer can solve that. :sunglasses:

Bottled an APA with mosaic and centennial yesterday. Tastes like a fruit bomb. Still deciding what to do this weekend. I'm going to brew 1 or 2 batches Sunday. If I only do one it's going to be an Ipa with Citra and Galaxy. If I do a second it's going to be an imperial stout.
