Thanks Jon for the atomic bomb from Missouri. I'll send you the repair bill for the porch.

I'm really looking forward to trying some old favorites and new beers I've never heard of before. I can't wait to try my very first beer from Perennial. I love stouts and coconut.
Also can't wait to try the homebrew. I'm not a huge IPA fan, but I'm getting there slowly

It worked out perfectly, both the growler that Roon sent and this one from Pimpinmidget arrived on days when I was able to share them that evening with friends.
And they were both soooooo good!!!

Well, fuck! I was just lurking about the beer cellar when I saw two bubble wrapped bottles that didn't make it into someone's box. Supplemental package on the way!

glad you like the box, fantastic voyage is one of the better beers perennial makes IMO, and when i saw it on your wants, i was pretty excited that i could actually hit one of someones wants, so that had to go in the box. the one on the left end of the pic is a beer from a series that one of my local bottle shops is doing. they get samples of single barrel bourbons from distilleries, let customers sample and vote on their favorite, then buy the whole barrel, bottle the bourbon, then give the empty barrel out to local breweries to age beers in. then they turn around and do a limited release of the beer as well. its a pretty cool idea, and ive had the pleasure of trying a handful of them, and they have all been great, including hairy cow. i also saw you werent really into IPAs, so i sent just the schlafly can session IPA because its pretty mild for the style, hopefully it might be a gateway beer in to the wonderful world of IPA!

Boxes are coming in and I suppose tomorrow is a big day! The deadline for the BIF is closing in tomorrow. If there is a problem with shipping, i.e. broken, lost or late boxes, then sty in touch with me.
Please update the TLNBIFF Received spreadsheet when you have time tonight if you got boxes!.
    Cheers!

Alright, I didn't get my boxes out till today, so if you live in Fishers or St. Charles your boxes are en route. Just wanted to post here so no one thought I was JustinF-in it up. My targets can expect their boxes on Monday, sorry I'll be a couple days late.

Don't know what is up with my targets last 2 boxes....timed the drop off so they should arrive tomorrow, but looking at the tracking I don't know what is up. Hopefully they all arrive tomorrow.

It's weird that these two packages are roughly 275 miles apart right now, but due to land 80 miles apart tomorrow...

I do have to say that I am a piece of crap because my boxes will be a little late. Work has been way stupid crazy, wonderful life of working with government agencies. But I will go ahead and say it. Both my Minnesota targets are getting some heavy boxes the first part of the week. Sorry Roon and J skip but they are on the way.

In spite of the fact that the surprise is ruined (totally kidding, I didn't suspect you anyway:rolling_eyes:), I liked this post because I too experience the pain of working with the government.

I normally would leave you hanging but at the same time we are all the kidz and I'd hate for you to think your send was flaking. Not to mention I might have to hit you guys up when I come up for a Vikings game. Or darkness day.

Also didn't get a note in your boxes to let you know it's me but usually if someone sees my name they can figure it out

Anytime! Might want to wait a season on the Vikings though until the new stadium is built. Twins games are still a good option.

Hoo boy! Texasdrugaddict, you may rest assured that, even though we may have lost a brave soul or two in the voyage, your box is still more than mind-blowing. I'm so excited about these you don't even know.

I braved the cyclopean FedEx fortress and saved what was left. The box was "carefully" repacked by FedEx and smelled vaguely of something dark and boozy. Bottles rattled inside, as if impatient to escape, as I loaded the box into my car.

When I got to my folk's house, I made no attempt at small talk and proceeded to hungrily tear the box open.

Let's get right down to it.

    The Big 'Uns:

Class of '88 Imperial Smoked Porter - Deschutes Brewery/Great Lakes (I *love* GL's Edmund Fitzgerald Porter so I'm stoked for this one.)
Black Butte XXV - Deschutes Brewery (Never had it. Heard great things. Super stoked.)
Kriek - Sante Fe Brewing Co Los Innovadores (Barrel aged wild ale with cherries added. Holy. Shit. Never heard of these guys, but I nearly squealed when I read the label. This will probably wind up as part of a tasting tomorrow.)
Barrel Aged Bigfoot - Sierra Nevada (This stuff is always welcome in my home. Though it may not last long!)
Enjoy By 08.02.13 - Stone (Oh glorious hoppy goodness. This'll definitely be gone this weekend.)
Life & Limb - Sierra Nevada / Dog Fish Head (Strong Ale? Birch and maple syrup? want want want want want want want)

    Now the little dudes:

Twilight Summer Ale - Deschutes Brewery (My roommate has professed his fondness of this beer. Excited to try it out.)
De La Vega's Pecan Beer - Sierra Blanca Brewing Company (I LOVE getting obscure locals like this.)
India Pale Ale - Odell Brewing Company (WANT. We don't get Odell in my next of the woods. Love the label, too!)
x2 Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout - Odell Brewing Company (These were immediately enjoyed by my father and I during dinner tonight. We both agree: damn yummy.)
x2 Elevated IPA - Cumbre Brewing Co. (CANS!?! WANT. This one's new to me. I'm psyched to see how it will stack up against Caldera IPA!)

Texasdrugaddict, you've really hit some major soft spots here. Cherries. Hops. CHOCOLATE!
I'm really excited about each and every one of these. Whatever beer(s) were lost in the journey - don't worry about them - you've still managed to totally wow me.

    Bravo, good sir.
    Bravo.

Really Glad to see that 98% of the box arrived. It appears that there was only 1 casualty(Ithink).
Glad to hear you like everything. Enjoy it Man and Sorry again for not packing better. and making you have to go into Hostile territory to get it. I hope they didn't give you a hard time about anything. You should have seen me lying to the lady on the phone this morn, "Huh, I didn't know I couldn't ship beer," "No one told me anything", Please, Please don't throw it away, he will come get it, I promise". Haha , I was a begging bitch.

Oh and Elevated stacks up against World Class IPA. IMO
