brew exclusively with my friend in boston (and his wife, occasionally). at first all our brewing was collaborative, but now he brews more often by himself (though i'm usually involved with the recipe).

This is my situation as well. My wife is my capper.

Mostly solo but my wife pitches in. Helping to stir in grains, weighing, capping.. etc. Once in awhile my brother stops in to assist.

When he's available, a buddy keeps me company. I do all the technical stuff, but he'll help crush the grain and such. We enjoy ourselves sitting around the boil and drinking good beer.

Yeah it seems to make time go by faster when you're drinking beer with a friend...the only issue is sometimes you can forget the attention to detail.

    When I brew alone
I prefer to be by myself.

I have a brewing partner that I split costs with and brew 2/3 of the time with. I have a few friends who have substituted for my brewing partner multiple times and I have brewed solo multiple times as well.

I'm fifty/fifty a solo brewer. I enjoy having a friend around to help me when things get 'busy', i.e. multiple hop additions, lifting heavy shit, watching the hot break while I hit the head...essential type stuff, ya know.

I brew with a friend of mine who has more experience than me. It works out well because he has a ton of equipment and I have a good space for doing it. It works out well because we learn from each other and can split costs.

used to have a brewing friend... we'd get a batch going, eat chicken wings, have a few good bottles, and watch an episode of 3 sheets. ah, traditions. we've both moved since then, and i brew solo now. not to get all mushy-nostalgic on ya, but you asked.

I brew alone, only when my wife travels for work, and almost never during the academic calendar.

Used to have a partner but since moving I've been brewing alone. The beer I've been making has been significantly better as I'm more focused on the process. But there are a few steps where a second set of hands would be a huge help.

The last 1+ year, I have been brewing with a friend and it's great because he has a therminator, March pump, and a 15 gallon Blichmann boiler. We split a 10 gallon batch. But that being said, sometimes I miss the old days of a solo brew with my 8 gallon pot and simple immersion chiller. I try to do one or two a year solo for those reasons

I'm no pro (yet) but I always wind up putting on some kind of class when I am brewing. Neighbors and co-workers stop by and "help" out. I prefer to brew alone with some help from my son. I like to zone out, play my music, drink a couple beers, and geek out on the little things that make brewing more interesting to me.

My fiance and I always brew from start to finish since I am generally making the IPAs she likes to drink, and also brew with a buddy who I got involved into the hobby. The thing that gets me is when friends here I am brewing wanna come over and hang out and continue to pull beer off the taps and offer zero help in cost or cleaning. I had to tell people there was going to be a limit on the free beer unless someone wants to help in brewing, ingredient cost or cleaning.

I've had a couple of guys that I've taught all grain brewing to, but I really prefer to brew alone. My job has reinforced the realization that I hate people so brewing alone gives me a few hours every couple of weeks to get my homicidal inclinations suppressed again.

My brother has been pretty interested in the brew game lately, so usually with him. Sometimes a friend will want to come over for the process. I will brew with anyone who is interested in the process and helping out a bit. It's nice to have someone to share some of your prior works with during the mash/boil. But when i have a chance to brew I'm doing it whether someone is helping or not.

This was fun to read in Bender's voice, for some reason.
