Lazy Monk is starting to can now. Not sure if that means the end of growlers, but would guess that is a strong possibility.

I looked today and struck out, too. Lots of Pumpkin beers, though...

I think Paulaner trolled the world in order to bump up everyone else's releases of their Oktoberfests. Come the actual time for release, everyone else will be sold out, and then SHING, SPARKLE SPARKLE, here comes Paulaner to save Fall!

I don't think they've quite hit my area yet....I've yet to check that statement as fact however. Currently en route to the store to change that!

I was pretty surprised when I saw it. The clerk even said, "Isn't that crazy, Ocoberfest already?"

His theory was the same as many that Sam was trying to get the jump on everyone.

    And yeah, okay - okay -- I'm ashamed, I bought some. :flushed::grinning:

Glad to see them growing, I am sure they will still have growlers in their brew pub.

Meant to ask you, did they have it in the cans as well? I'd like to pick up a few of those 12er's to store away for the cooler months.

This is my favorite beer season of the year. Odd to realize my list is all "bigger" craft guys.

Honorable mention - Square One Brewery Octoberfest in St. Louis.

Looking forward this season to trying Munsterfest from Three Floyds and Franz from new Cincy local faves Rhinegeist.

    No particular order.

    Samuel Adams
    Harpoon
    Victory
    Ayinger
    Sebago

I actually pretty much think those are the only ones I've had.

Edit: My avatar reminded me I've also had Altenmünster Oktoberfest.

I started with winter beers as my first foray into "better" beers. Only recently have I begun to dig into pale ales and summer offerings. With that being said, I really appreciate any heads up on some good Octoberfest and fall brews. Thanks beer lovers and I think this site is great.

Didn't see cans, but I honestly forgot to look. I'll probably stop back in the place soon so I'll take a glance.

Wow I didn't know Great Lakes Oktoberfest was so loved by anyone outside Ohio! I actually saw it on the shelves a few days ago... but it's only July! I usually pick up a 6pk of it every year, since it's everywhere so I guess that's my #1

Then I'll just drink as much Aventinus as possible. While it's not an Oktoberfest style, it's a good hearty German beer that makes me warm inside and fills me up.

Looking into it I guess I haven't had too many real German Oktoberfest beers- I guess that'll be my goal this fall.

    Rest of my list:
    #2 Ayinger
    #3 Great Divide Hoss
    #4 Spaten
    #5 Bells
