I wouldn't go far as to say Elk is decent. Lone Tree BC is much better than Elk, by a long shot.

Dad & Dudes posted that Station 26 is being run by their former brewmaster. I'm not sure what to think of that.
I know one of their guys has a pretty good reputation (Bard I think is his name), but I've had some absolutely horrid beers there, too. The stuff they had when they opened was pretty good, but it seems like all of the recipes changed and I had the worst weissbier I've had in recent memory there last year.

Anyone have the scoop on Station 26 and/or what happened with D&D?

Justin Baccary is the owner of Station 26. He did work as a brewer at Dad & Dudes. He will be brewing a few beers at Station 26. The majority of the beers will be brewed by me. I started at the Hubcap Brewery & Kitchen in Vail, CO many, many years ago. I was the opening Brewmaster at the SandLot Brewery at Coors Field. I also was opening Brewmaster at Rockyard Brewery. I got out of the industry for a bit, but I have been doing some consulting on start-ups recently. Some of my recipes are being brewed at Backpocket Brewery in Iowa City, IA. A new brewery is opening this weekend in Gillette, WY called Prairie Fire Brewing. I designed a couple of the beers and assisted them in their equipment selection and trained their brewer on it's operation. I am working with another start-up in South Dakota.

At Station 26 we will be brewing on a 15 bbl brewhouse supplied by Craftwerk Brewing Systems. The gear is made in Michigan from all US supplied materials.

Actually Backpocket is in Coralville, IA. Very nice beers. The owner/brewer ran Old Man River Brewing in McGregor. He had an opportunity to open a larger packaging brewery. He is brewing on a 40 hectoliter BrauKon system and bottling on a Krones line. Very good German Styles beers as the main line. I designed a DIPA, Imperial Stout and a Pale Ale for them.

That's not really what I meant by in Park Hill... cool spot none-the-less. Maybe I can convince my wife to go on a long bike ride. And get a sonic milkshake after.

I was thinking the same thing but it's close enough for the bike ride

Lost Highway and that new pizza brewpub concept going in on Lincoln are sorely needed in Cap Hill. And by Cap Hill, I mean me. I do hope the beer is good.

I completely concur with the suggestions of Wash Park and Lakewood. Given that I live nearby, I don't mind the concentration of breweries in the Five Points and Highlands areas, but I also think it would help differentiate some of these newer breweries to look for new geographic niches.

Me neither! I'm just over going to Elk and being underwhelmed. It's so close to my house but I hardly go there because the beer is ho hum. Seriously, I feel like the if you don't get the hefe or brown it's a crap shoot.

wonder what's taking Lost Highway so long? People are open who hadn't even had the idea yet, when the paper went up in the Lost Highway windows.

I think the Rockyard is what it is intentionally. Some of those firkins and special releases are/were top notch, but it's funny to listen to the conversations about how "awful" and "bitter" their regulars think those beers are.
They're trying to be more like CB & Pott's or Hops than a Dry Dock or a Crooked Stave.

Rockyard does have good food and their beers are very decent in my opinion. Most of the clientèle are locals for dinner. Regardless, you should be seeing their beers more often in the near future. Their 30hl Braukon is coming online soon.
