NEBCO Sea Hag (they tweaked it just a bit and now it's really good)

This is the first beer that came to mind. I have a few beers I've rated around 10% higher than the average; that's how average works. However, I was absolutely shocked at the ratings Raison D'Etre received. Had my first one last week, and was super impressed.

Call me stupid but I do not get the question, how do you define underrated? by who? If its last on a style list I have no reason to even try it.

I'll be the sixth or so BA to mention New England Brewing Company's Sea Hag. Like Gandhi Bot light and half the price.

Not to speak on Riason D'etre but DFH in general seems to get a lot of undue hate on this board.

Troegs Sunshine Pils. I know pilsners are typically not rated very high, but this beer is fantastic.

Tommyknocker Maple Nut Brown (not the Imperial) only gets a 3.41. IMO, it's a solid brown ale, and at 4.5, an excellent session beer. Trouble I seem to have with it, is being out of date on the shelf here in PA. Fresh, it's damn tasty.

Hop Notch by Uintas or Big Bad Baptist by Epic. Both great beers and not just because I recently moved to Utah.

I like it too, but it it does not seem to age well. I got some last year that was not very old but it was already skunky. Maybe the shelf life has something to do with the rating.

Their IPAs get pretty good ratings, but I think people's hipster complexes kick in against DFH. They're popular, but they don't make people wait in line all night for their beer, and therefore instead of hip they're too mainstream.
Delicious beer + wide distribution = mediocre ratings
Delicious beer + ridiculously exclusive = perfect ratings.

My first post, but I've been visiting this site for years now.

My first thought was Blatant IPA, from here in MA... I tried it last year at ACBF and it was my favorite beer of all. At the time, I think its ratings were in the low/mid 80's overall. I see that it's around 88 now, so maybe no longer underrated, or I'm remembering incorrectly. Either way, I'd put Blatant right up there against some of the big dogs.

Another that was mentioned a few times above is Summer Love. I can drink that all summer long, and rarely get tired of it. Perfect on a hot day.

The recipe has kinda changed, as in the new recipe has more hops than the old.

New England Brewing's Galaxy Pale Ale if we're not factoring ratings. Its rated highly and its easily better and hoppier than Lagunitas Daytime and Founders All Day. Amazing "session" IPA.

Interesting perspective, I didn't think about the hipster douches. I saw a documentary with Sam bashing Anheiser Busch for their predatory sales tactics. He said he would never let his company go public, he never wanted taste to come second to profits. It made me want to support Dogfish.

Who cares if it's underrated? If you like it, drink the hell out of it and screw what everyone else thinks. More for you.

Personally, I think that all of the beers from Southern Tier Brewing Company are rated low. They are one of my favorites regardless of ratings.

Dechutes Fresh Squeezed.... I know it just came out, but it should be hire than a 91..... Then again Heady is the #1 DIPA in the world... So I guess I should not be suprised.
