It's going to be a cool rainy night here in CT and I'm contemplating having a bottle of last year's Celebration that I found in the back of the fridge. I think I just might!

Not to me, but the relatively chilly weather today certainly didn't put this idea to the test.
Truth be told I enjoyed that particular winter warmer / porter much more than the pale lager I had as well.
With respect to your aversion, I'll raise an imaginary but refreshing Narragansett Summer to you in toast... cheers.

Tourist trap, not a purist trap. Past year's brews. I'm waiting for the New Year!

Just saw a 2009 Goose Island Christmas on the shelf of my favorite local bottle shop. It was not there last Friday.

Most bars are selling product that has been sitting in storge since last fall. Unless it is available at the brewpub I wouldn't buy it.

Jeebus...nope, not yet. My workplace is theoretically getting about 200 cases of a handful of breweries' pumpkin ales some time next week, but definitely no Christmas stuff yet

A bunch of the Houston breweries have a huge Xmas boner right now ... Nothing says refreshing in texas heat like some heavily spiced thickass stouts

This is the truth. Me and my neighbor had Stone's VE12.12.12 (a take on the Noel-style BSDA) outside in blistering humidity, and I didn't like it much; it also made me pretty damn uncomfortable.

And this is coming from someone who thought the whole "Christmas in July" thing was cool before hand.

I'm a firm believer that there is a time and place for every beer. Come Winter I will be drinking Quads, BSDAs, Porters, Stouts and Scotch Ales. right now I am drinking Pilseners, hoppy Summer Ales and adjunct lagers.

Problem I am finding is that the craft brew industry is starting to act like walmart. I can't find a bathing suit for my kids in August but fur coats are plentiful. I don't live in Canada asshats! Pumpkin beers are due to arrive next week - WTF? There are some "X-mas" beers I could drink year round like the GBS but not all of them.
