Iowa Rumors?

Obsidian is one of the best non-imperial/non-BA stouts in the world in my opinion. Once you start seeing that beer around I think you will change your mind on Deschutes beers being over priced. They make extremely solid shelf beers, and I definitely feel like they are sold at a value price for what they are. Check out Black Butte Porter too once it arrives. Phenomenal.

 

All of this. Inversion IPA is another strong year rounder.

 

Agreed on Obsidian Stout. One of my favorite stouts for sure. Can't wait until we start seeing it on shelves.

Anybody heard any new rumors on Odell, Oskar Blues, or Lagunitas making their way to Iowa this year? Hear Nebraska Brewing Co is hitting shelves here next week!

 

Man, I'm really hoping for Odell's...Myrcenary alone would be worth it.

 

I think Iowa Beer Baron said Oskar Blues wouldn't be until 2014 now.

Looks like Cyclone Liquor in Ames has some Nebraska Brewing Co on the shelves today and some Clown Shoes! That makes me happy!

 

Anybody seen Evil Twin's Justin Blabaer yet? There was a post on Abu Nawas' FB, but, it didn't specifically state they were getting any.

 

I saw it last night at Cyclone Liquor in Ames, $12 a bottle I think. I'd assume Benz or Johns would get it out east at some point.

Off topic but Cyclone (and the Hyvee next door) had Founders Mango Magnifico con Calor already on their shelves so I'd expect the rest of the state to have it soon (I think its actually supposed to be released early August).

 

$8.99 a sixer in Davenport. Good price for most of their lineup, but that's an absolute steal for Black Butte.

 

Pleasant Hill HyVee had plenty of bottles when I was there last night.

 

It is around Des Moines too. I had a bottle today.

 

I'm runnin the Deschutes out at 8.99, Ive got the Justin Blabaer and some Clown Shoes 4pks in. Also grabbed some more Tilquin Guezue in the 375ml format. The Clown Shoes Molotov Cocktail=what Devil Dancer was intending.....holy hops.....

 

How is it? Very spicy?

 

Not too spicy at all. I mean, there is heat and you can tell it's brewed with peppers, but it is subtle. It is way more sweet (from the mangoes I presume) than it is spicy.

 

A 2nd shipment of w00t is hitting shelves in a few places around DSM. Keep your eye open!

 

Ought to be able to find All Day IPA at Cork It in Le Mars

I haven't, but I was able to secure a bottle from the first shipment. I'll try and grab a few more if I can, because i have heard great things about it.

 

Hey Iowa folks, what is the likelyhood of being able to purchase bottles at the TG taproom this Saturday? From what I have heard bottles there are very hit and miss?
