Long and short: I've got a friend who's graciously bringing me beer from Portland (to Texas) and I don't really feel like doing the research right now on who does or doesn't distribute to Texas anymore so I thought I'd ask you gracious people!

Shoot and let me know which breweries in Oregon should be schlepped back to Texas.

I'm a universal lover of beer (except sour ales, to be honest) so shoot me your suggestions, bitte!

    Going through this exact process...

    My list was:
Deschutes Dissident, class of 88 series
    Ninsaki random selection
Widmer Stouts any and all that can be acquired

    Go here: http://www.seekabrew.com/distro/index.html
Click on Oregon, then compare to Texas.

I'm not sure which are based in Oregon vs. just getting distro there, but here are what I'd look for from Seek-a-brew's list:
    AleSmith
    Anchorage
    Baron (Three Skulls)
    Caldera
    Cascade (Raccoon Lodge)
    Deschutes {shared distro, but maybe some great stuff is lying around}
    Elysian
    Hair of the Dog
    Hopworks
    Howe Sound [Limited]
    Jolly Pumpkin [Limited]
    Midnight Sun [Limited]
    Russian River
    Saint Somewhere
    Schlafly [Limited]

Of course, it's whatever you prefer for style, quality, cost, location, etc.
    Cheers!

Thanks for the suggestions, it's really appreciated! Keep 'em coming, I'll be sending my friend these names and hopefully I'll be able to get my greedy little hands on some new stuff! :grinning:

Shame you don't like sours...Logsdon's Farmhouse Ales are top notch and they have a few beers that are not bretta'd.

    What Mr. Brad said!

And yeah terrible shame that you don't like sours when Cascade makes some Ridiculously Delicious Fruit Sours...

Get all Cascade stuff. Try one and when you decide you still don't like showers just bring the rest to my house. K thanks.

Edit: Showers = Sours. I hope you like showers.....

P.S. I have no real input.

This. They make quality beers. As far as Cascade goes, maybe a Figaro. It had a great sweet taste to it, so it's a very fruity beer and only slightly tart.

If I can get my hands on it, I'll definitely give it a try. I'm game to try anything, especially if it's well received by so many. Thanks!

I know, it's pretty amazing - last time I was there I tried so many that I needed a day to recover after coming home. :stuck_out_tongue: I'm so excited about whatever my friend's bringing back to me...

I just brought a Cascade Figaro back from Portland and it was one of the best beers I had. $25 a bottle, but worth every penny. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can also visit their site and order beer directly from them. FYI.
