So, these sound pretty good, but i don't know much about them (i must have been asleep when they came out or something...). anybody have bottle counts/when they were released?

Are they actually good or just super homered? Are they still "worth" (pronounced: "in the psycho world of the ISO:FT trading only for...") crazy whales or are they reasonable to try?

    cheers!

The Buffalo Trace and Apple Brandy ones are good, but not earth shattering. You should be able to trade pretty reasonably for those.

The Pappy Van Winkle one actually is that good and destroys the other two barrel treatments. That one trades pretty high, but honestly if you find someone willing to give up a bottle for something you're ok with cutting loose, I'd recommend doing it without blinking.

Don't remember the exact bottle counts, but it's not more than a few hundred of each.

They were really good. Unfortunately with the low bottle counts, I wasn't able to spread them around as much as I wanted. However, Voodoo is doing another release soon (though no word yet as to what bottles will be available, to my knowledge) and I will probably go again.

It hink there are under 600 of each I dont have one that has a number higher than 400 though so who knows. I think the Apple Brandy BM has less than the rest.

And yes. PVW Black Magick is earth shattering.

I can't speak for the others, but I had the PVW treatment last night and it was fantastic. I can kick myself for not making the release.

Thought the BT and AB BM variants were good but the PVW BM was the best BA stout I have had this year and I really loved KBBS, AB/Whiskey Mexican Cake and BA Abraxas but this one for my tastes was simply damn near perfect.

I have PVW Black Magick #600.

That makes it more special, right?

All worth it. Better than the famed BCS series.

PVW was the best stout I've had to date. AB and BT were both awesome too, AB edged out BT for me. Those aren't insane to get. PVW is up there in difficulty, but it's not in the stratosphere of ridiculousness that TG has reached. I think PVW is worth what it trades for. If I (and my friends) didn't have several of each left, I'd try and trade for them. Definitely agree with maximum above me about the BCBS series.

Below are the numbers for the Meadville release only. This was 3/4 of the yield, with the remaining bottles sold during the satellite release outside Philly at Blue Dog. However, some of the hand numbering exceeded the numbers on the bottles so it's difficult to know the exact numbers.

*Voodoo Buffalo Trace Black Magick – 552 bottles
*Voodoo Pappy Van Winkle Black Magick – 523 bottles
*Voodoo Laird’s Apple Brandy Black Magick – 174 bottles
*Voodoo Buffalo Trace Big Black Voodoo Daddy – 268 bottles
*Voodoo Pappy Van Winkle Big Black Voodoo Daddy – 267 bottles
*Voodoo Laird’s Apple Brandy Big Black Voodoo Daddy – 171 bottles
*Voodoo Laird’s Apple Brandy Gran Met – 398 bottles

Sounds like the guesses for a Wee Heavy and Barleywine might be spot-on.

the guesses for those 2 brews were from a picture they released just before the March Barrel Room release showing - in addition to the Gran Met, Black Majicks and BBVDs that were released - the Wee Heavy and Barleywine.

conversations with employees at the brewery have also given hints as to the possibility of Grand Negro Voodoo Pappy along with more Gran Met
