Total wine fort Myers, FAIL!

Exactly! Like I said, it's always been the most reliable place in your area to find CCB bombers and super fresh Jai Alai.

 

In FLA we don't consider Jai Alai "fresh" after 6 days, never mind 6 weeks!

 

If it's any consolation, I went to the Total Wine in Tampa and found month old Jai Alai in the regular aisle but I saw a stack on an end cap by the registers that were 1 day old. So next time, just search around instead of asking. I never talk to the employees there because I know they probably won't help me.

 

Don't really have any complaints on the TW in Charleston, they seem to have a decent selection of beer and have a great growler selection as well. They also do a lot for local breweries. I don't shop there a ton, usually go to CBX, but when I do, it seems fine. Then again, I don't really ask for help, I usually have an idea what I want.

 

You should be proud of your own TW store. Went down there for BA Mexican Cake release and that place blew me away. Quite a massive selection of beers and I was so jealous about the extensive range of Evil Twin Brewing bottles. Also, they even had nice variety of snifter/pint glasses along with fresh taps of local brews. The two TW stores in Richmond, VA couldn't even hold a candle to the one down in Charleston. BTW, what's up with the cases of FBS laying around in one of their aisles?

 

You guys don't get Evil Twin up in Richmond?

 

Just few average bottles, nothing in comparison to the store in Charleston. They literally had everything from Evil Twin, and I do mean EVERYTHING. Makes sense since Evil Twin works with Westbrook.

 

I guess our cup over floweth.

 

Just found 3 day old (7/26) Jai Alai at the Publix at the corner of Colonial/Lee and 82. Heading to Total Wine now and will report back.

 

TW had ZERO Jai Alai on their shelves. Ended up getting a six pack of 4 day old Maduro.

 

I agree. A couple years ago they had a good beer staff and a great selection. Now it's a lot of out of date stuff and nobody seems to know anything. That said, they're pretty much the only game in town.

 

Bought some 2.5 week old Jai Alai at Cigar City brewery a couple weeks ago. Just goes to show ya.

 

Did it taste worse than normal?

 

Tasted great!, but (psychological or not) I did notice a difference.
