I totally used my cellphone when I picked up my BA Kopi.

The person at the counter when I went to pick it up told me to go get the physical email and that my phone wasn't good enough (thankfully I had just left the printout in the car). I can't really speculate on how or why that particular person said that if it was okay for phones for other people. Maybe I don't look trustworthy or something. In any case, if y'all say they're letting you use a phone confirmation, I have no reason to doubt it.

(I suppose it is possible that I told them I had the email in the car and they didn't want to read it off my tiny phone screen?)

Why wouldn't you print the confirmation out if people are reporting that showing it on a phone didn't work in even one instance? Confusing topic of discussion. Let's refocus this on Pliny vs. Heady or something.

$246.90 for 10 bottles of beer? Fug it, why not? You only live once. :sunglasses:

Does anyone know how long it actually took the last few sales to sell out?

Depends a lot on the beer. You should expect Speedway variants to sell out almost instantly. Other styles (like Wee Heavy or Old Numbskull) stuck around for a long time, even at the tasting room.

I should have clarified that I was referring only to Speedway variants; I got some last time, but I didn't sit around to see how long it took until there were literally no more available.

I'm wondering how many cases they've got this time since the bottle limit seems to have gone up since then.

well I guess I was a little off. 3 beers (not 4), White Chocolate and OT w/ cherries (got those 2 right) and Batch 1000.

With all of the other releases going on I think I am passing on White Chocolate (still have a few), getting 2 or 3 OT with Cherries, and splitting one Batch 1000 with the person I share a membership with.

I bought BA Speedway the following morning.

As long as its not say, a Comic-Con ticket sale thing (e.g. logging in the second tickets go on sale doesn't mean you get tickets since your chances of getting tickets are based on how fast your internet is/your luck in being connected to the site), its a pretty awesome system for selling beers like this.

I'm glad to see that LA is picking up on AleSmith's system. Hopefully we see others pick it up too for limited releases.

So if by any chance there is someone that is not purchasing the maximum amount of bottles and would be willing to let me purchase the extras, that would be awesome. I would try to pre-trade for them but I'm not sure that I have enough to trade right now. I would definitely send out something very nice as a thank you at least

I believe it was actually 8 minutes is what I heard from workers. After 7 minutes there was comments on BPT of being sold out. Either way damn near lightning fast. Regular Kopi I believe took like 2 hours though.

IIRC, they remove them from inventory if you put them in the cart so you don't get sold out beneath your feet when they're in your cart, but if someone releases them, they will appear again, which might explain that.

I don't expect this to sell nearly as quickly as BA Kopi, however, although I will freely admit I have little evidence to support. People were flipping out all over the trading forum and elsewhere over BA Kopi a week or more before the release.

BA Kopi was a great beer, I hope they do it again.

Looking forward to reloading on BASS, never seem to last long at my place.

Guess I'm using miles to come to CA for a weekend. As long as I get my allotment on BPT...

I stopped by there yesterday afternoon and they still had BA old Numbskull.

I was pleading with them to get rid of the BA Wee Heavy. For months those bottles were looking me in the face, and like clockwork about every 2 weeks I'd have to grab one.

BA Wee Heavy is seriously underrated

I would have to agree. I thought it was the best of their recent bottle releases. Liked it more than BA Speedway.
