I'm trying to identify a place that serves great food where we can bring our own craft beers for a tasting. Any suggestions?
It is illegal in CO, to my understanding. The only way you could do it is if someone turned a blind eye.
Okay. Thanks for the info. I was hoping it was just illegal to BYO to a place with a liquor license. Guess we'll need to arrange a courtesy suite at a hotel or something.
been wrestling w/ finding a place for a medium sized tasting as well (sept. 1). lots of folks will be from out-of-town and thus not able to host. a hotel meeting room w/ a/v equipment wants $300, and thats before i tell them that we're using the room to get drunk. at which point they might just tell me to buzz off. city park rules dictate only 3.2% beer from cans or kegs. not exactly the tasting i had in mind, though i wouldnt mind setting up some lawn games and getting drunk at the park.
Seems several people have reserved/rented meeting rooms in their apartment complex. Just a thought in case anyone invited to the tasting lives in a place that allows this.
I know a couple of the wine storage facilities here have lounges available for the use of customers and their guests.
I sat next to the marketing director and CFO at crooked stave about 3 months back. They were up here doing some research/meetings and such. I certainly wouldn't mind some endeavor, DR, or bishops barrel series up here.
My CS Trustee, had a Saint Arnolds Icon Green Poker night,(24 bottles) at his place in Downtown Denver just a few weeks ago. You just have to know where to look .
It's not illegal, just needs to be handled correctly. Any class c license can allow it with a corking fee similar to bringing a bottle of wine to a restaurant. I've hosted shares at the pubs I run a few times without issue. I just cut myself an invoice for a corking fee for each bottle, pay it and keep the receipt on premise during the share. The corking fee is at the discretion of the establishment and the staff would *need* to open the bottles/insure none left the bar with beer in them. Aside from that its all pretty easy.
Thanks, guys. And regarding the other questions, see the link: http://beerpulse.com/2013/08/saint-...do-and-florida-expand-annual-capacity-up-to-2
